Mozza
It’s Carrick you know
I'm buzzing, the last time was the 100 meters relay, I love sport
Congrats "brits".
That was a great display. Will be a good final tomorrow I think.
Gimps? You were calling him a bottler a minute ago.
I agree though. He may have a chance tomorrow if he gets enough rest.
He is a bottler, but that'll go with time. He's on a completely different level to the likes of Henman
Great Display yes. But he is Scottish, and doesn't regard himself as British. I hope he gets stuffed in the final, the arrogant pouting ghet.
well, that was unbelievable tennis.. he totally outplayed Nadal. Nadal was lost. You know, Federer's going to have his hands full if Murray sustains this kind of form.
I think Murray might find it difficult though cos he will be as nervous as feck.
He represents GB when he is playing tennis doesn`t he?
Well he can't represent anyone else can he?
I said to myself "this Ruben fella is a cnut"
I don`t know. Scotland represents themselves when they play football, I figured it was the same with tennis.
It wasn`t a dig at you Rams, more an observation I thought was a bit funny.
He's got a fair record against Federer doesn't he? Reckon it'll be close.
Do you want to take it outside?
Hope Murray loses and Federer beats Nadal in the final.
Unbelievable. He is deservedly the British no 1. Well done.
I dont really know much about Murray, does anyone know why people think he's a cnut?! Was it something he said or what?
Well, a lot of people like him. There's probably a lot more people on here that want him to win than lose. Whether that's just because he's British and people are jumping on the bandwagon now he's successful I don't know.
That's one of the issues I think, the fact that when he's successful the media go crazy over him and hype him up to be a British hero, then you hear nothing when he loses, he's just that Scottish guy. As with most sports, people are very quick to pounce on someone for being overrated. That's not his fault though.
Plenty of scots don't like him either to be fair. On account of his arrogance and demeanor.
Personally i like him, i think he's truthful in interviews and conducts himself decently. Yes he looks bored out his mind in most interviews and press conferences but listen to the questions and tell me which tennis player isn't bored by these things...
Yeah the arrogance and his general demeanor do annoy me. I don't take to petulance well, the whole 'showing off his muscles' thing and the constant fist pumping that the players do irks a lot of people, myself included. He's young though so I'm sure that humility will come. I don't hate the guy.
I think there's often been criticism surrounding his game too, he's been accused of just pushing the ball and being too defensive, waiting on his opponent to make a mistake rather than being the aggressor himself (this wasn't the case against Nadal though, no doubt if he had he would have lost).
Yeah that is what he did at wimbledon and nadal blew him away.
Anyway i don't understand why people get offended by him fist pumping or "showing off his muscles". Everyone loves nadal and i've never seen a player do more intimidating on a tennis court than nadal. He grunts after every shot, does this weird gun jack type thing (out of tekken) where he pumps his arms in a "gun" like fashion. Add to that his rediculous swagger, need to run everywhere, time it takes him to serve, did i mention his cut offs?
Nice one, I don't actually like Nadal that much either. What's worse is what he's picking out of his arse the whole time.
I like Murray. Hope the sweaty cnut wins the US Open.
Nice one, I don't actually like Nadal that much either. What's worse is what he's picking out of his arse the whole time.
Same, I really don't understand why there are a section of people who don't like Murray. The same can be said of those who don't like either Khan or Hamilton. We should be backing all our sporting British heroes.
As a player Murray has gone high up my estimation. Not the favourite for tonight but he's got my support.
Oh and the World Cup comment Murray made was clearly a joke, anyone could have seen it. And even if it wasn't who gives a feck. He plays for Britain, not England.
