"Up to 11 players now want to leave United after becoming disillusioned with life at the club."

No United player has put his name on any of the statements or reports. At least, Lukaku and Toure had integrity, and feeling of entitlement, to say things publicly.

This episode shouldn't be smoothed over.
I don't feel there's any integrity in name shaming a club that just paid £98m for you, and arguably its fans, despite already having played for the club and in the PL previously so he knew damn well what he was signing up for.

No United player has done so, as agreed, hence no apology needed in that regards.

If they want to leave, do it the right way and no United fan should feel aggrieved as we can all see what a mess it is both on and off the pitch. Wrong players bought it, stupid contracts given to those who didn't deserve it etc. Those players who have been mentioned, wouldn't miss too many of them

Given the amount of emphasis the club puts on its own social media branding and outreach, it's hardly a surprise to learn we are full of insufferable cnuts who prioritize their own branding above anything else.

I think if you took an axe to the squad and tomorrow sold Maguire, Rashford, McTominay and Ronaldo a lot of problems would sort themselves out and any division would go real quick. Bring in a new DM at the same time and I don't think our performances or results would suffer.

I dont rate McTominay but can't see him as a guy who is going to create these kinds of issues.

Questionable man management and baffling decisions out there:
  • Promised to give VdB (and a few others to some extent) chances, then continuing brought him on at very late moments in game (85th minute or even later), then entirely ruled him out, meanwhile still said in interviews about wanting to keep him and praising him for what he've been doing in training
  • Subbed Greenwood early in the 2nd half vs Wolves, the only one who created something and played better than other attackers while keeping a totally useless Sancho on field, and calling Greenwood out multiple times in interview saying he's not ready physically yet. You normally don't do that to your players, let alone youngster
  • Dropped Bruno twice in a row while keeping playing many other underperformed players, also the second part keep playing underperformed players is another separated issue in itself
  • Dropped Dalot and Telles who both are on form to play "useless in attacking" Bissaka and Shaw
  • Played a 37 year old Ronaldo, 35 year old poacher Cavani and 34 year old Matic for full 90 minutes, then complaining about players not pressing like he wants in post match interview
  • Gave hint about changing captain and potentially dropping current captain Maguire, when you decided to do it, go straight ahead and just do it, why is the need to inform in interviews when literally no one even asked?
  • Implying the club doesn't need Pogba when he's not yet decided his future and was absent due to injury

Why McTominay? That just seems like you picked a list of players you don’t like to be honest.

Because of the second part of the post where I said bring in a new DM at the same time as McTominay is not good enough, performances would improve so mood in the squad would improve, he also seems undroppable regardless of performances which just causes unreset.

UPDATE

Manchester United face an exodus of players as SEVENTEEN first-team stars are unhappy .....

Never buy this stuff, exodus of what, they overpaid as it is, no other club going to take them, they are going no where bar ones that can be sold.

Good headline, will get the clicks

So now we trust them? Actually, who the feck is Murtough guy though? Like in term of his footballing experience and reputation.

I am curious about that because it seems like a bunch of people here suddenly trust him to do the 'right' thing.
How does the matter. Atleast lets be happy someone did a retrospection smd thought we need a footballing brain to calm things down. This never happened under EW.

So we should have one DM in the whole squad and 2 midfielders in the entire squad?
Matic will probably be done by the end of this season.

The reason McT plays most games is purely lack of personnel in the area. His game time will be more than halved if we sign 2 CM's.

This reminds me of when we used to start Perreira every game, it wasn't cause he was undroppable, we just didnt have anyone else to play.

Yeah agreed.

Reading some of this post regarding the manager and how he should be sacked or is incapable, how long are fans going to stay on the bus that the players are as good as you think or will compete at the heights that we think, Majority of the team has won nothing and doesnt matter if we were managed by klopp they would not win anything, we have had issues with player power for years and this has resulted in the club going on this horrendous spell of not winning anything or competing at the highest levels, at some point this needs to be resolved and it starts with a firm clear out of the players,Even if they are fan favorites we need to do what's right for the club long term and what will make us compete

stop with this united dna rubbish that is long gone and was relevant at the time fergie was here but we need to get up to speed and ready for the current football trends

Well you can look through my past posts where I've said we should bring in 2 new midfielders, in this January window if possible, and I've also said McTominay can have a place in the squad but not as a starter if we bring in the right players.

Jesus Christ some of you lot are wound up tight to a completely hypothetical where I suggest we sell 4 players tomorrow. I wasn't suggesting that would be the all we need to do and no other players would need to come in or be sold, I was suggesting a quick fix. Getting rid of the players deemed untouchable would not be a bad start.

Agree with you but I think RR can and should try someone else in DM. Even Lindelof to see how things go. I do not mind Jones but he only started this week. He has played in midfield before.

This whole situation sound like a chicken made out of a feather. Wild speculations of imminent doom, anonymous rumors from "someone" "close" to the team, no names given either who said it or who they point to, no officiell comments, no followup Information. Not to say there Isn't any unrest but this is starting to smell of ABU.

I doubt he will do anything like that. I must say, I have been a little disappointed in Ralf. He has not tried much in the areas we need the most attention. Our biggest problem under the whole Ole reign was the 2 DM's. McT and Fred could play there but they need an elite midfielder in there.

Playing Matic when you want to be a high intensity team, doesn't make sense. I would have thought he would have tried different things to get control of the midfield.

I really hope we get someone in Jan, it is again the same old crap, money is available if a long term target becomes available. We know who the clubs target is, Declan Rice.

He will not be available, I do not want him. I want us to go find a high energy midfielder for about £30m

How else do you explain the performances?

The performances haven't been good enough, but barring the first year under Mourinho & the first 6 months under Ole our performances haven't been good enough under any manager.
Under LVG the media would say the players found training to be boring & monotonous.
Under Mourinho it was hard and the environment was toxic.
Under Ole it was too simple.
Now under Rangnick its too complicated.
If you guys can't see that the media are manipulating your emotions by writing gossip as if it's fact, then I don't know what to tell you.

Yeah Ronaldo should be benched but the foolish players need to give the interim manager longer than a couple games. Summer business somehow turned out to be a bit of a mess. A faction of the squad should probably have been moved, another faction should never have been promised time. Ole, true squad management genius, man famous for making no changes to his starting 11 kept a bunch of players to loiter the bench. Well then I wonder why the dressing room is in disarray or if any of this could have been avoided with basic management foresight. Lingard, Henderson, at least one striker and a bunch should have been moved if Ole knew his own plans for the squad. Doesn't help we crashed out of the league cup.

The more articles I’m reading the more I’m starting to dislike this group..

Oh Ronaldo plays to much
Oh the manager’s tactics are wrong
Oh I’m not getting played enough
Oh we have to train in the dark

Such a bunch of whiny arseholes, there’s 80,000 every other week paying hard earned money to go support these guys and these are the noises they’re making.

Sounds like a cunning plan to clear out overpaid underperformers, cutting the wage bill to build a fresh squad. Something dramatic has to change clearly. For years Man Utd have bought players but not cleared out the dead wood. The result being that we end up with a bloated squad that needs a cull and fresh faces brought in. Apart from Greenwood, Sancho, De Gea a total clear out - make what we can from sales and start afresh with Ten hag or Pochi. disgusted with most of this gang. Don't they have any respect or honour for the players of 1958. Seven players died but a patched up team went all the way to the FA cup final - guts, pride, respect and love for the team dragged them to the final, didn't quite achieve the impossible but they never gave in. A mass clear out is what the club needs to rebuild a better culture.

Firstly it's likely the majority of players we need to rid ourselves of anyway (JLingz, Martial, Matic etc)

Secondly, it's likely because they are actually having to graft in training. Good work them like dogs Ralf lad, these boys have had it too easy for too long.

Ole seemed to let the lunatics run the asylum from what I can tell. His massive bounce post Mourinho was largely letting the players do what they wanted within a very loose framework and they were happy and motivated for a while. When that high subsided and I think it became clear that a lack of progress was going to limit their potential as a team and it slowly drifted in fits and starts to where it finally fell apart when Ronaldo arrived.

No one with half a brain could have looked at our 2nd place last season and said "next year we will win the league with these tactics and this setup". Liverpool had an insane injury list that completely crippled their season and Chelsea had Lampard sandbagging them. We seem to be better without a crowd as well for some reason which makes 0 sense.

RR has a horrible job with these underworked and overpaid idiots who know they can get away with behaving like children when the going gets even remotely tough. I really hope the high ups have give RR the power to clear out whoever he wants and reboot the culture of the club.

I'm not sure if we are in a little bubble on RedCafe but I feel like this is the final straw for quite a few of our fans. It certainly is for me. I'm sick of these players and sick of the club that has spent the last decade cultivating a culture of mediocrity and style over substance. There is absolutely no reason why you can't have the commercial and advertising success we have as well as the on field success. I would even be so mad as to say that it would help the brand if we weren't utter shit 90% of the time.

This is the result of awarding mediocracy for the past 6-7 years.

You give players more money than they should be on. Players/Managers getting new contracts when they shouldn't be. The club have allowed this to build and build and it was always going to explode.

I reckon out of the 4 mentioned Ronaldo is probably the only one where attitude is an issue. Rashford and Maguire are horribly out of form and their confidence levels are in the toilet, but there are ok footballers in there somewhere and at the very worst good squad players. McTominay certainly doesn’t have an attitude problem, but his complete lack of consistency is a massive issue.

I wouldn’t be sorry if all of them left tbh, but we need to decide if we’re clearing out bad attitudes or trimming the weakest footballers from the club. If we do both we won’t be able to field an 11.

We don't actually know who has the worse attitude between any one group. Ronaldo's problem is unearned status and poor performances but Rashford right now is more athlete than footballer and isn't of some quality that puts him behind anyone on a clear out list. If he's dragging his feet he'd be the same as martial but with the benefit of being english. The way Maguire's name keeps popping up in these reports is most worrying because he's among the least qualified to be making assessments on anything squad related. He wasn't even qualified to be captain. I don't even know how it was decided before seeing the player fit into the squad dynamic.

Let them leave, but then you have players like Lingard and Martial who seemingly don't want to accept lower wages. So what is it? Do you want a new club where you can play regularly, or do you want that big paycheck that you really have never earned anyways?

As you say exodus to where exactly. They can't all go to Newcastle and the other big payers will not be interested in them.

oppressive
In these modern times the mainstream is teaching us that almost everything in this world is oppressive. No wonder Man United players fell for it and have become such snowflakes and narcissists who think they should run everything in the club.

Show them the door and start from scratch. Recruit players who have desire to play for this great club and who don't mind running and train in the afternoon.

Exactly, Newcastle only team I could think of at the moment who could possibly take some of them at them wages. But outside of Lingard, where are they going to go. We literally call the shots here with them. Suppose prob works other way too as they know they going no where and be paid very handsomely for it.

But the mass exodus is total nonsense, never happened in total level football ever from memory. Jesus we were in worse nick 3 months ago than at the moment

This bollocks about 17 players wanting to leave blah blah blah is all for clicks. But it is quite damning that reading through the names, there's only 1 or 2 (generously) that I'd miss. And one of those is 34 and we've known would leave since the beginning of the season.

Tbh, RR should follow up with his words more. Let them leave if they don't want to be here. We have a few youngsters that can step up especially for attacking area. In the case of Cavani, he seemed to want to leave since a year ago. Nothing to do with Ronaldo arriving or new manager coming in.

I’d have had some sympathy with the players if Ralf was like this on his first day.

I now want Ralf to be like this
