Maybe that proves that it isn't Veron - it's the system. Giggs should have scored 10 minutes ago, and RVN is all over the pitch because he hasn't got another striker up there with him. No wonder the poor sod gets tired.

Watching the match. Ruud is doing everything he can, good first touch, didn't lose the ball, but always getting difficult long balls that go nowhere... he hasn't got one chance and did not get to touch the ball most of the first half...

ive been saying for ages, his formation needs changing, you cant play giggs as a support player, hes a winger, get OLE of the bench!! its no good him getting splinters in his arse

How is RvN doing badly? Is it his fault that he isn't getting any balls played to him or when the rare pass does come it's usually a long ball to nowhere? He controlled all the passes he could have gotten, passed them off well, didn't lose posession.

But as Ole hasn't scored nearly as many from the bench as everyone thinks, I wouldn't be too hopeful.

It's not the system, its the players employing it (or pretending to do so).
the whole 4-5-1 system is meant for us to have control in midfield, and everybody can agree thats not working.
I dont know if it's because they are busy defending (defending where one would wonder) or just plain dire.
Nobody and I mean NOBODY is playing to their potential, Giggs is nowhere to be seen, Becks except some good attacking moves is unfocused.
Keane and Butt are busy doing something I just cant tell what.
was Scholes playing ?
so basicly were playing without a midfield in a system where the midfield is the strongest link.

Fan-bloody-tastic half of footy. Keep it up lads, we will get it together soon enough. I was just thinking if Giggsy had laid the ball off to Scholes instead of trying to bend it in, well, never mind, still 45 minutes to go... ;)

No-one has ever said that the system doesn't suit other teams.

3-5-2 is the way to go imo. (By way of a change that is - not all the time).

Not really. The bounce left Roy decieved for the first, while Andy Gray made a point about the second, saying he should have held on to the ball and let it calm down. He was right a way, just shows his inexperience.

Just come up after first half...

The right side defensively is very poor, Phil is playing poorly at the back whilst on the other side Silvestre has been excellent!

Beckham is losing to many balls wide which is inviting them on to us.

We have looked good actually but its silly lapses which we keep failing on..

Don't get me wrong, the system works well (and to be honest this game is the type of games where 4-5-1 could come in handy) for us, but not when are whole midfield does not exist.

I definately see an improvement in defence from last season already. John is having a fantastic game (his best for United imo) but its just those lapses in concentration that are our downfall.
