United @ Sunderland Match Thread

I predicted the draw, and Sunderland showed us why they beat Leeds.

Its not the end of the World... but the state of our squad could be!

agreed... too many chances to let that match end the way it did.. sunerland didn't deserve the draw, we gave it to them!

we did play 4-4-2...until the last few minutes.

If the sending off was justified - and I've only heard it on the radio - I hope that for once Fergie will come out and actually say so, instead of making excuses, which I find embarrassing, and let's the club down.

oh come on! last year newcastle! this year sunderland! our most important player and he goes and gets sent off! mind you the refs a bit of a cnut aswell!

We should have had 3 points by half time. We cant be expected to dominate games for 90 minutes.
Poor finishing was the problem, nothing or no one else.

But we didnt loose and a point away from home is a passed result, no matter who your playing.

United for ever <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" />

Mcateer dived, kunt <hr></blockquote>
Dunno what game you were watching Murt but the elbow was deliberate and Keano got what he deserved...sorry but Keano let the side down with his personal agenda.

Then you're an idiot.

Because, you thick sod, we will now be without Keane for 3 games. But hell, that's OK, as long as McAteer's leg is broken.

Exactly - this was always a banana-skin.

I would have been worried if we had played rubbish and not created chances, but it sounds like we created plenty of chances. It will all come good.

The FA are going to throw the book at him.

He was sent off with 10 seconds left. He didnt cost us any points and i really dont feel he let us down.
His suspension will collide with an operation so no problem.

But what book would that be Neil.

Christ Keano!!! It's St. James' Park last season all over again!!   :(

Forlan coming in only in the 90th minute, I wonder if fergie even considers him a decent option up front.
I wasn't watching the game but from what I hear and see Ruud and Ole weren't exactly on fire, why wasn't Diego brought in earlier ?

oh well, on to tuesday...

Bollocks mate, we hammered them last year with a second string side. Games we won comfortably last year, we're drawing this year. And we've now lost another midfielder for 3 games needlessly. Did he deliberately wait until the end of the game to do it? Its idiotic.

Murt - if your captain gets sent off, it lets the club down.

This was a mistake on Fergie's part. Diego should've come on after 80.

The fecking ref should have penalised Mcateer earlier with his challenge against Keane, and seems to me the ref do favour the sunderland decision!

Not the ref's fault today.

Let it go... What happened last season, well, was last season. With Flo, Reyna and Piper around Sunderland are better than the team we faced last sesaon.

For me it's definitely a tragedy man... we won 3-1 last year... I hate to say it, but up to now there's hasn't been any noticeable improvement from our last season's team.

Btw, thanks Roy... someday he'll feck up the team.

This is a different Sunderland. This is the side that didn't let Leeds score at Elland Road, and who have just injected a bit of hope into the side with new signings.

I was afraid we'd lose tbh.

It's early days. We won't dominate many games like that without scoring.

Well, gotta agree. It wasn't necessary, keano :(

It's two points lost... again... cant really see the rationale in bringing on Forlan in the 89th min if we are looking for three points...

Well said Neil...We should have this in the bag!!!We have no cover in front or at the back. Now midfield looks short too....

Sorry to sound pessimistic..But our side does not look good enough. We had complete control in the first half and thats when wxe should have scored 2 or 3..And ROnaldo's joined Madrid..Thats about all I needed

Agreed, it won't help his confidence if he's given appearances but not enough time to do anything. Sounds like Ruud and Ole didn't do very well today, so why not give Forlan a chance?

Agreed. It's ridiculous bringing a sub on that late.

Not at all..We are all behind the team but I guess sometimes I have to admit that Fergie looses me

his so called operation will take him out for 3mts so they say! so unless we play one game a month for 3 months! then your wrong. we need this player as much lor even more than rvn and he has let everyone at man utd down yet again.

Let the club down perhaps, i personally dont find it embaressing that we have dirty player sin our team. But he didnt cost us anything today, and his suspension will collide with a European period or an operation so its an enforced rest.

Good idea.

Drop Ruud and Ole, and put Diego up front on his own. <img src="graemlins/nervous.gif" border="0" alt="[Nervous]" />
