United obsession with physical qualities

Because United fans think that players who run a lot and divexin tackles, play with passion and for the badge. Ffs, player like McTominay, who can't pass the bloody ball, was labelled as future captain here on Caf.

I agree, although I liked him best as a CDM. He played a couple of matches there early on, looked very composed, played simple passes, read the game very well so intercepted balls instead of making crunching tackles which is the better skill and more beneficial but in this league and at that time wasn’t really appreciated as it didn’t look as good as a crunching tackle.

I think with Pep changing the prem and Rodri at City, now if we had him fans would appreciate Blind more as a CDM
Leicester City destroyed us in that 5-3 match with Blind playing as CDM. May be it's the match that made Van Gaal realize Blind could not play as a CDM in this league.

Definitely a match that affected LVG and made him become more defensive but not really sure Blind was to blame.

We have too many tall players with high centre of gravity (not counting CB who are supposed to be tall) - McTominay, Matic, Pogba, Ronaldo, Rashford, etc

even all our full backs are relatively tall :
Shaw - 1.83
AWB - 1.83
Dalot - 1.84
Telles - 1.81

such high centre of gravity players are slower to turn in tight spaces and are more easily get dribbled past
also, Tika Taka style of play generally need significant amount of short players to implement (Dani Alves, Villa, Pedro, Xavi, Iniesta and Messi are all short)
