United find New Rio - Dede

I had this conversation with someone during the summer about Dedé for Barcelona. There were concerns about his injuries and lack of NT experience to be truly considered a blue chip prospect. Portuguese sides and Milan have been linked to him for a couple of years already so no idea where Barcelona or United would fall into that queue now

He extended his contract with Vasco thru '15 in the summer so any transfer would be minimum €18-20 million (Buyout is claimed to be €28 million) - doesn't sound like he's itching to leave Brasil either. His coach, Ricardo Gomes, not a bad central defender in his own right claims that Dedé is a better prospect than himself

That combination of steel, speed & energy is pretty enticing for a central defender. Very promising but still the unfinished article, IMO, he is, for example, not nearly as polished as say a Hummels

With the problems in the center of defense, I do wonder if Rosell who loves his Brasilians might consider the player in the winter market when the Brasileiro season ends

Well, I'm a homegrown Vasco supporter. Dedé, is surely one of the finest defenders in Brazil right, along with Rever. IMO, the best today. Should've been a starter in the Olympics, but got injuried.

He is surely a fine defender, a little shaky after his injury some time ago, but he's tall, strong, fast as feck, and a beast in intercepting passes.

Ricardo Gomes isn't the coach anymore, last year he had a stroke on the bench during a game against rivals Flamengo, and his assistent had taken over, but was fired last week. But his role in the development and build up of the player was immense.

Best defender in the country since Thiago Silva. And I'll go further and say I think he's maybe better today, than Thiago was when in Brazil.

Thanks for that, yeah, I am just now starting to locate some of his matches to see more about him. Any recommended encounters to watch?

What do you think though? Any chance he will be sold in the coming year? Two years ahead of WC14 and just had a one year extension on his deal (Often that is done to maximize profit on a sale).

Doubt Barcelona would make a move in the winter since he's largely unproven, fairly or not, on the world stage. But he's the one central defender I'd like to see the cash spent on

In the Brasileirão of last year he was brilliant, and so in the Libertadores. This year was great in the Carioca and begining of the Brasileirão, until he got injuried. Spent almost two months out, and came back maybe a month a go. Been partnering with a new kid called Douglas, and maybe not on par with his best performances, but is getting better again every game.
With Santos last year, in Rio he absolutely destroyed Neymar, but at Santos, he got kinda burnt, but to be fair Neymar was unplayable that day. He usually does very well against top attackers in Brazil, Luis Fabiano, Wagner Love, Neymar, Damião usually don't go past him, and have a go at the other CB to score.

What is the news on this guy?

I hear he is putting in some cracking displays and is the talk of Brazil at the moment

feck you dumb cnut, I wasn't the only one giving Evans a bashing in the matchday forum. You probably thought he wasn't at fault too.

Great fan you are.

Calm it down.

Also Sneijder? How would he help our problems?

Well, has been injuried again. Probably because he was rushed back for the final stage of the Brasileirão where Vasco were really struggling after being dismantled. Didn't play the last 6 (I guess) games, and last week got rushed to the hospital due a zit (true story) that got infected.

Since he came back from the other injury he was unimpressive (my best bet, was that he still played with an injury of being rushed). Still commanded the defence, you saw some improvement, but it was very different from his best).

I don't think he'll go in January, and let's see how he does next year, since football in Brazil is all but done until February.

Probably already been said, but the guy is a proper FM legend.

Signed for Cruziero, with Wellington Paulisa and Alisson being loaned to Vasco de Gama in exchange.

Corinthians were also in the hunt for the 24-year-old - who had made it clear he would not be leaving Brazil despite interest from Europe with the likes of AC Milan, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United all linked.

Now Cruzeiro have announced that they have concluded a deal for the central defender and as part of that they will loan Alisson and Wellington Paulista to Vasco.

Dede will hold a press conference to confirm the move.

Huh ? That's a weird move.

Isn't Paulista on loan to West Ham and what's the fee ?

What the F?

It's not that strange. Quite a lot of South American players are owned by third parties or at the very least "advised" by unlicensed agents so they'll take them where the money is. At the moment Brazil's economy is on the up and Brazilian players are wary about leaving for Europe and struggling for regular game time in a World Cup year so staying in Brazil makes sense. Ganso left Santos because he could get more money at Sao Paulo and I suspect it's the same here.

Yes, 45% of his rights are owned by ***. Cruzeiro bought the Vasco part for 5mi Euros, and loaned 4 players. Vasco is really struggling for money since it's awfully administrated. It's mind blowing.

I an one of the few that feel betrayed.

He was an idol to the team, years ago he almost quit football, but Vasco stuck with him. He earned about 300k, and now at Cruzeiro will earn 100 more. To me seems petty. And not that Cruzeiro has a great team or is even a huge club. They are not playing Libertadores, and are not even the best team in their state.

I could've understand him going abroad, as Neymar, he is head and shoulder above 98% of players here (The other brilliant CB here is called Rever and plays for Atletico, Cruzeiro's rival) and should've been taking a step further in his carreer going to Europe. Not going for a team, that even being in a better situation will play only the same championships you would anyway. For a player who is an idol, called "The Myth" for the supporters, and proclaimed he loved the team, make the step that moves you sideways and away when you are the leader of a team, is a coward one.

But then again, they are players and we are supporters, in this relationship only ones who will ever get heartbroken are us.

EDIT: Why D I S (name of the company) became ***?

Sounds like he lacks ambition, and will probably get picked up by one of the rich Ukrainian clubs in a year or two
