We won't sell Vidic for only 25 Mil Euros and there is absolutely no chance that we're gonna sell him to City. Most of the Vida rumors are created by the reports the his wife is unsettled in Manchester, I don't know how moving to City is gonna solve that problem. If he goes, than he will go to Madrid.

If Chiellini comes, Vidic would almost surely be out. We wouldn't keep both and stunt Evans' development, and with 2 years left on Vidic's contract we'd be silly not to cash in, whether that comes in the form of Benzema or money, probably both

I always found that interesting, because after the Ronaldo story broke I recall Graham Hunter on SSN saying he would be shocked if Utd didn't have any players lined up to replace Ronaldo. I think he specifically mentioned Robben and Benzema as the players, but he believed that the Ronaldo deal was only agreed on the basis we had lined up a replacement.
I think Calderon was right when he said we had some form of agreement in place to sell them Ronaldo. The fact the sale occured without any leaks (usually papers find out a day or so before that a player is leaving/joining), we happened to accept the first bid we received and no players were included in the deal either means there was a pre-contract agreement to sell them Ronnie or we needed the money and took the first offer.
Then again, I'm probably reading too much into it...
If we do get Chiellini (most likely to replace Vida) I hope it doesn't mean Evans will get fewer chances. For me Evans has proven himself to be a top quality defender, very reliable, and he should be first choice CB (alongside Vidic). That would mean an Evans-Chiellini partnership. Question is, would it work??
