I only started a few weeks ago, it’s cheesy but fun. There’s a character called Roy Kent in it who is obviously a take on Keane, I find him hilariousBit off topic but is Ted Lasso any good? Heard a lot about it but never bothered to watch.

David succeeds Alan Dawson, who is leaving the club after 11 years at the end of July to pursue new opportunities. John Murtough said: “Everyone at Manchester United would like to thank Alan for his huge contribution to the club and wish him well for the next chapter in his career.”An okay, makes sense then I guess. Who was doing this before? I remember Mourinho having a meltdown at the guy who was in charge of this previously after an away game in Russia or something.
Might have to give it a watch.I only started a few weeks ago, it’s cheesy but fun. There’s a character called Roy Kent in it who is obviously a take on Keane, I find him hilarious
30 min episodes. I’ll be sad when it’s finishedMight have to give it a watch.
assistant to the regional manager?Assistant manager and assistant to the manager
So wouldn't that not be the opposite, given they (new owners) would have to pay his contract up, and he is freed to get a job elsewhere ? And why are the ones moaning about the way the club has been run the past few years as (A) I doubt he had that much input and (B) He is there 27 years, and they have not all been bad, as they did well under Moyes for a few years.Yeah exactly, nothing to get worked up about. If I was him I’d be worried about the timing of this new job though!
Ignore the moans, they misunderstand what his job was and what he will do for United. So wouldn't that not be the opposite, given they (new owners) would have to pay his contract up, and he is freed to get a job elsewhere ? I've watched the league pretty much most of that time, I can barely recall a period wear Everton weren't a dour, boring team. To me, they're the epitome of boring, pointless team, just taking up space, handing 6 points to liverpool and doing enough to hang around and never entertain anyone. Nothing about what goes on at Everton should ever transfer to a club like United. He's been at Everton for 27 years and everyone is judging him on the last one

I got a pretty good idea how it's run, and it looks like a giant shitshow. Name one aspect of Everton that's positive? Aside from somehow getting Ancelotti a few years back, everything that club does appears wrong, and uninspiring. Some of you at mentalists; do you know what directors of operations do at Football clubs? It’s about the operational running of the club. Not the football.
He isn’t picking the team lads.
Everton is badly run as a football club from footballing perspectives, but none of you will have any idea of how the club is operationally ran. For all we know it is the most efficient and improved club in the league in terms of the structure he was involved in.

Good postDo you know the staffing situation at their stadium and training ground, their transport and accommodation arrangements, do you know about their grounds keeping procedures; all that kind of detail? How about their ordering and storage procedures for perishable goods, or maybe their supplier and Storage for cones?
No, you don’t. You see a team under performing in the league.
Its the operating functions of the business that largely aren’t directly tied to the actual football.
He isn’t scouting, buying players, picking teams, staging training. Hence why the director of football / management and coaches are separate.
People are idiots. Football clubs are massive enterprises with hundreds of people involved in different roles - yet everyone thinks it is all literally just football. You think the bloke in charge of a hundreds of millions stadia and training ground and the workings for it to operate is bad at his job because Lampard was a shite manager and they’ve bought bad players?
Terrifying that we have appointed some one who has been working at Everton.
Everton maybe one of the few clubs that have been ran worse than us over the past decade.

He’s replacing the guy (Dawson) that has been doing the job at Man Utd for the last 11 years which is just over that same decade, funnily enough.Terrifying that we have appointed some one who has been working at Everton.

Going on how bad Everton have been ran are we sure he can do that correctly? He’s booking flights and hotels you numpty.
His role will be to ensure that all the moving parts of United’s football department — the men’s, women’s and academy teams — run smoothly. And despite the job title being similar to that of football director John Murtough, ‘operations’ is very much the key word.
It is a role focused on logistics and organisational matters rather than transfers, recruitment or wider strategy. Harrison will oversee the administrative side of United’s football department, with his responsibilities including the arrangement of travel and accommodation for matches.
Harrison starts work in March and will replace Alan Dawson, who departs after spending a little over a decade at Old Trafford.
