Under Ten Hag could Pogba have been sensational?

If Ten Hag was the manager in 2016 when Pogba arrived then he’d have had a much better career here. This summer was too late, Pogba had become disillusioned and most importantly his injuries have become way too much of an issue.

Talk of a classic straw man and non sequitur fallacy.

First. The Debate isn't 'is Pogba world class". That's a straw man. The debate is can Pogba perform at optimum level in a tactically structured team. Juventus and France are proof he can, end of story.

Second. Giroud is irrelevant to the debate. He has never had issues in a tactical structure thus there is no reason to bring him up. So that us a non sequitur. Furthermore You also show up the inane level of distaste you have for Pogba when you try to dare equate the level of Giroud as a player to Pogba. Both in general and in that French world cup winning team. A team that was structured around Pogba and fully harnessed his best qualities that led them to glory.

Firstly the OP is “could Pogba have been sensational”. Sensational for United would equate to world class. So yes, the debate is partly is/would Pogba be sensational/world class.

Re the Giroud point, I simply picked Giroud as most of the rest of the French team who won the World Cup have had distinguished domestic careers, or performed to some consistent level. But now you mention it, comparing Pogba to Giroud was an unfair straw man too, as Giroud has also looked a half decent footballer for most of the last 6 years. A lot of which he spent playing for a team no better than us, fecking Arsenal.

Why do Pogba fans get so butthurt when people call out their guy. He was shit for us for pretty much the entirety of his time with us, including his “best season” when Jose was here. Always the talk about, structure and surrounding him with precisely the correct blend of complementary players. We could have done that with Kagawa or Mkhitaryan too. That we didn’t doesnt excuse the fact they were more than a bit bobbins.

He also wasn’t a world beater with Juve, he was a young player with some promising moments who people thought would become the real deal. He was a meme because we’d let him go for free and we had a midfield full of shite.

22-26 year old Pogba was an insanely good player.

Unfortunately the injuries have taken their toll on him. IF we the young Pogba that joined in Mourinho's first year, we'd be extremely good.
