UEFA Youth League - United vs Juventus

What a save by Juve's Gk.

Good attempt from Gomes.
Thought it was a goal then, another good save from their keeper, he's played well.

How have we not scored a fourth yet? We're knocking on the door again.

How many fouls is he going to get away with? Playing dirty this Juve lot. On a more positive note Mengi has been a rock at the back today.

Baars, Puigmal and Levitt on for Gomes, Traore and Barlow.

Garner has been an absolute monster in midfield, at this rate he must have a future as a United player.Traore aswell, after an injury hit stop start to his time with us he now looks like he is turning into a giant of a player.18 minutes to go and we make 3 subs, let's see if we can get one more goal.

There we go, Levitt makes it four after good work from Puigmal. Mellor with the assist.

Williams on for Laird, another great performance from him.

I was thinking a certain Alex Ferguson
To be fair that's the sort of style McKenna often employed, direct, quick counters and a fondness for playing it down the wing and lots of clever little one-twos.

U19s looking really sharp. I missed the red card, what happened?
Their played hit Bohui in the face when he wouldn't give him the ball back for a throw in.

really good performance. their keeper made some useful saves to stop it being more. It was a fun game to watch - haven't said that much recently

3 wins out of 3, playing some great football and we really were unlucky not to score more goals. Garner or Traore MOTM for me, Laird, Bohui and Mengi were all really good too. We're in a really strong position for progression although we still have to go away to Valencia and Juventus.

I don't know how we stack up against the rest of the competition like Chelsea or Barcelona but with Greenwood, Laird, Traore, Gomes and Chong I'd fancy our chances against anyone.

I don't know what it is but there's just something abut Puigmal that's got me convinced there's more to come from him, the kid's clearly got talent but I don't feel like we've seen his absolute best yet. Overall very pleased with the team and how they've come along, even in just one season we're playing like we own this competition.

Here are the standings.

If it doesn’t work out for Mourinho, at this stage I’d nearly give Giggs, Butt or McKenna a chance, if Pochettino wasn’t available. They’d have us attacking full time and bringing youth through.

Leave Butt where he is, he only really manages the UEFA youth league team (not the league team) and whatever he's doing behind the scenes at the academy has worked wonders.
Hoffenheim, Ajax and Madrid looking like solid early contenders.

Surprised at City. Chelsea always seem to be our undoing, so good they aren't there.
