UEFA Youth League - United vs Juventus

Let's hope the senior squad can replicate the performance of the U19s. All over this Juve U19 side. Greenwood looking very lively.

How close do our lads match up with the best European’s in the Youth League? Obviously very strong domestically, but good enough for a proper chance at winning this?

Number 15 (Capellini) booked for Juventus, think he was just frustrated.

We're one of the strongest teams in it.

Nearly a third goal from Traore, we're by far the better team here.

The best English sides have been among the very elite in this competition since it started so I would estimate this United side as up among the very best this year. The usual suspects of Chelsea (they beat Molde 10-1 in their last game) and Barca will be the teams to beat.

Number 14 somehow has more goals than bookings, completely against the run of play but our defensive work as suspect as ever :nervous: 2-1.

Good finish, well in Jimmy.

3-1. some of these boys should be on the 1st team bench occasionally. talk about pressing high up the field...

Hopefully we'll see a few before the end of the season, quite a few of them are still with the u18s though (Traore, Greenwood and Laird) so don't think we'll see them near the first team before they have a decent go with the u23s.

Another good save from Kovar, both keepers had plenty to do this afternoon.

I can't imagine who Nicky Butt has modelled his management style on and what he wants from his team

In fairness to us, we produce 2 or 3 players every couple of years in the academy with great potential. From morrisson and co a few years back to this bunch, it’s impressive and great to see.
It would be class to see as many of these lads as possible break into our first team over the next few years.

Every player has been good in this game so far. Garner and Gomes dictating midfield. Traore like previously mentioned, very Pogba like, without the sloppiness. Greenwood with another clinical center forward finish. The right back Laird, excellent.
Our lad, lee o Connor at left back looking so assured again for his age.

The pressing from us has been great and the intensity to win the ball back once we lose it again brilliant.

Of course, this is a different level but some really enjoyable stuff being played here by Nicky butts lads so far.

Seems to be emulating Kieran McKenna/Neil Ryan and the way they play.

Hopefully the lads with real potential have their heads screwed on the right way, unlike Morrison.

Nearly make it 4-1, I think it was Traore with a nice turn and shot.

Juve have a man sent off for hitting Bohui in the face.

Bohui's had quite an impressive performance today, he's very hit and miss but definitely has some flair about him when he turns up.

let's hope tonight's ref takes the same approach.Juve down to 10 men

Very theatrical from the Juve player there, even gave a little hair flick as he went down

Barlow has been very unlucky to not score.

We've took the sting out of the game, playing a more measured, patient game. We'll score another yet.

Bohui off for Mellor.

Juventus player seems to have been fouled by the air to deny us a clear counter.

That's what I thought, I just thought Mellor had fooled him.

Love watching this set of United youngsters. No Chong, is he to old?injured? or possibly in with the 1st team tonight?
Every time we go forward we look like we're going to score.
