UEFA Youth League 2023/24

Williams has been disappointing today.

Oyedele has been miles better last 15 minutes.

We've put some really good balls in the area, just had no one on the end of them.

70’

We go close again. Strong play on the right side from Fitzgerald and Williams, Oyedele finds Musa on the far post but no goal just yet.

Much better in the second half. Although that’s not saying much.

Referee's not given us much

With all the good things Kambwala does defensively, his passes are often quite shocking. Easy five yard passes at full speed to the recipient’s shin pads consistently.

Bayern are so drilled, we had a chance for a counter and next second they've got soo many bodies back.

I like how Williams relentlessly tries to take his man on and make something happen when nothing seems to be going his way. Another good sign.

That was soo unlucky, we should've pulled one back there. Good save tbh and then off the post.

FT 2-0

Oh well, back to playing FM.

Better in the second half but not enough in the end. Fitzgerald, Harrison, Williams and Wheatley with some positives but overall not good enough. Too many passengers in terms of today’s performance.

Better that half at least, still a deserved loss. Hopefully learned a lot.

100%, Bayern could have scored a couple more in the second. It's just nice to see an improvement.

Big difference between quality in sides. We look good against likes of Middlesbrough and Stoke but some way off top end of Europe these days both technically and tactically.

No Hansen? Weird, he is not with the first team either. Hopefully not injured.
These are a very well coached side. We'll need a shuffle at HT if we want to regain some semblance of control.

There's not much between the sides technically, they're both misplacing passes for fun. Difference is tactically where when we misplace a pass or are trying to play out from the back we're surrounded by an organised Bayern press whereas we're doing virtually no pressing and being bypassed and outnumbered in midfield as a result.

that is true, out coaches in academy are very bad. Binnion is even better than the rest, but complete setup of coaches are on terrible level.

I strongly suspect Uniteds side will be considerably younger and they play against weaker opposition in a less competitive enviroment each week. I could be proved wrong but PL North outside of 4 or 5 teams looks like it could be a stroll most weeks. 2-0 Bayern U19 away not bad, I expected worse tbh and bodes well going forward
