Again it depends. If we were through to the latter stages of CL SAFs approach with Rooney might have been very different. I also don't think Rooney was as bad as people make out. Without singling out individuals there was a stubborn, sheer bloody-mindedness coursing through the veins of this team at the time, who ever played in the starting XIs.
