Why isn't Lewa nominated on this instead of Messi? Isn't supposed to be only for UEFA competitions?

We'll have to really perform to top that group. It'll be a nice challenge though, I'd rather that than a piss easy group.

Any particular reasons, or just slightly pessimistic? No reason we shouldn't win all the home games for starters.

I think we'll struggle away from home under Moyes. I think each team will give us a tough game at Old Trafford, all have goals and tight defenses. Don't under estimate Sociedad for example, they're a very good side. Leverkusen have built a promising young settled team and Shaktars always tricky. Looking forward to every game which is rare in a group phase tbh.

Because it's Messi. He's going to win it too, probably.

Speak English, you fecking idiots. Oh, there's the close button!

They said bye bye Celtic last year too and we qualified. We're just grateful to be here and will enjoy it. Probably a battle for Europa with Ajax, I'll take that.

Good group for us. Some testing matches which will prove good experience for Moyes and his new team but we have the talent for all game to very winnable.

City have a testing group again and will do well to qualify. For once, Madrid and Barcelona both have the toughest groups.

Disagree City should get out of that group, there will be questions asked otherwise

Bar Bayern, City should win the other 4 matches. It should be a piece of piss for a squad like theirs.

I agree about City, they will get 6 points from Plzen, but I dont see any away points from Bayern or Moscow, the progress they are going to have to get something from both teams at home.

Cska aren't very good these days. They should be fine.

Wait, wasn't Messi going to win for sure?

Ribery! Surprised Messi didn't win, Ribery the deserved winner.

I fancy you guys to win your home games against Ajax and Milan, so an away win against Ajax or a home win against Barcelona should do the trick.

City is as likely to get 6 points from Plzen as are Bayern and CSKA. Whoever loses points against the Czechs will be in clear disadvantage. The other ties will decide the final outcome.

Why is everyone surprised Messi didn't win? Has he won any undeserved prize of the sort so far?

Not really. He only won because his team did.

Only scored 10 goals last year.

That's an important part tbf. He was Bayern's best player last season, and they won the treble, demolishing Barca in process. Totally deserved IMO.

I think he is a deserved winner simply due to the fact that the Euopean footballer of the year always includes the success a player has with his team and not only individual skill like the Ballon D'or which Messi, baring any major injuries, will probably win until he gets so old that he scores less then 40-60 goals per season.

Bayer have had a perfect start to campaign. Anybody here who watch them regularly? Are they potentially tougher challenge than Shakhtar? Shakhtar are bit weakened no doubt from last season after losing Willian and Fernandinho. Sociedad is tricky as well. They key will be 2 win at least 2 home 1 away game and draw 2 out of remaining 3.
