U21s: Barnsley vs Manchester United (EFL Trophy)

Fletcher with a wondergoal 2-2. Amass wins a long ball and gets the ball to Fletcher who takes it on his chest, turns around and sends it over the keeper into the top corner from 25 yards

Fans in good voice - fair play

3-2 Fletcher - a short throw over a few defenders, and he hammers it into the near corner. But my God that was bad defending

What a comeback!

Barnsley have been utter shit

O'Keefe sent off for something he did to Amass off the ball. Camera missed it

Barnsley has been so poor overall. Good start of his U21s career for Jack Fletcher. He will be important there this season.

Weird that we look like suddenly remembering how to play football after conceding.

Fans are unbelievable by the way. Can't say I watch the other EFL Trophy games but I doubt any other of the academy sides come close to that level of support.

Was thinking the same. Great travelling support.

Cracking goals!
On a side note...couldn't we have given De ligt 45-60mins to get him up to speed?

1st time seeing Amass play for 90mins. Huge prospect but definitely not ready for the 1st team just yet.

We've given it away 3 times and 2 turned into goals. You can't really have that kind of energy for youth teams, this is where they are meant to make mistakes. We've created chances and Collyer looks well in midfield.
Thats good to hear.

He is too good for U21s. He genuinely was everywhere on the pitch and his midfield partner Devaney had a poor game. Would genuinely be perfect on loan if we didn't need him to fill in for our ongoing injury concerns
That is very good to hear.

I watched the highlights and the first and second goals were both high quality. But Fletcher needs to be banned from ever attempting a knee slide again. Those were both atrocious!

We were one of 3 P.L clubs that won before penalties yesterday (Everton and Fulham also won)
Spurs won on penalties, Brighton and City lost on penalties
West Ham, Leicester and Palace all lost their games

The remaining clubs play today or next week

Everton won thanks to two goals from Beto & an assist from Lindstrom, two senior players signed for big money.

How did Tyler Fredricson do?? Been out for a long time but was previously impressed by him

One of the more shaky players defensively - but considering how long he has been out that is perhaps not so strange.
