Barnsley’s iFollow stream for the match available for €11 (£10?). Live on Sky Sports+ too.

Tickets here.

Adult: £10
Senior 65+: £5
Young adult 19-21: £5
Under 19: £5
Under 14: £5

It will (if I’m arsed to pay that much for a stream) be interesting to see Amass, McAllister, Williams, Wheatley and co. against a decent side who reached the League One playoffs last season. Although Barnsley could use this match/competition to give minutes to a lot of their fringe players.

Jacob Devaney's dad, Martin, is the assistant at Barnsley by the way. Would be cool to see a family reunion, although probably unlikely Jacob makes the squad.

Yeah noticed that as well. As you said I very much doubt we’ll see any (or many) of the players who played at the Otten Cup.

Game is also being shown on Sky Sports+.

What’s the chances of the lad we signed from Arsenal getting a game here? Chido Obi-Martin.

Blimey, didn’t know that he hadn’t been officially signed yet. Wonder what the holdup is?

Thanks though.
There's apparently a PL ratification process for players his age which could take several weeks.

I think the hold up is that all these types of Academy signings, where a player has rejected the offer of a contract at a club to sign for another, have to be examined to check there was no tapping up or anything like that.

Travis Binnion:
”Alongside the Youth Cup for the Under-18s, the EFL Trophy is our biggest regular competition.

“We feel like we find the most out about the players in that arena and they’re unique games, playing against senior opposition, the format of it, going away, it offers a lot.

“The lads definitely look forward to it and we, as a staff, feel like we find the most out about the players in those sorts of games.”

”Maybe a third or half the squad that were involved at Salford last year might play on Tuesday night. You’re hoping those lads have a better understanding of what’s coming and can help the others or at least show the others with their own performance the maturity that they’ve developed.

“So, you’re definitely looking for that in the players, and then the lads that haven’t played it before, you’re looking for them to show their best and to be able to adapt to a different type of opposition, a different type of game, that’s what we’re looking for as a group of staff.”

”Arsenal were really good [in the PL2 match] and better than us on the night, so the lads are coming off the back of that knowing that they didn’t do themselves justice, so they’ll want to prove a point.

“They’ll know that the game could look slightly different and I just want them to show to us as staff what they can do. When I say what they can do, I mean let’s take the opportunities Barnsley give us and nullify them off what we’ve seen.

“That’s how we’ll judge the game, if you do those two things well, the game tends to look how you want it to look and it should give us a platform to perform well in it.”

Forgot this was tonight ffs thought it was next week, might venture over. Tour de Yorkshire in this group, the worst parts as well.

For those involved internationally and likely to play in the September/October/November breaks for the U19s/U21s/senior teams this is the only match in the group stage which doesn't clash with the international break. So could see some of them involved.

Yep, that’s why I find this to be the most interesting fixture in the group stage.

Shame to see Scanlon miss out after winning best forward at the Otten Cup. Guess he played a lot in those games and needed the rest.

Would have liked to see Harrison starting too. Well, atleast I can look forward to Amass, Wheatley and Collyer play. I hope Collyer impresses. Didn't see him do much in the games i watched last season.

I'll be too busy tonight to justify paying the ifollow price, but will be able to follow the scoreline and updates.

Good to see Amass, Collyer and Wheatley getting game time against senior pros. Good balance between keeping them here with the first team but also them getting to experience the benefit of matches v EFL opponents and as key players in the team.

Not got a huge amount of hope for most of the other starters making the grade here, but Devaney is a future possibility and pleased he's starting having read on here about his dad being Barnsley's assistant manager.

TV listing says this should be on Sky Sports+ but that's showing Salford Vs Port Vale

Edit. It's on Sky Sports Plus Event 10 on my magic stick...

1-0 Barnsley. Devaney plays a sloppy pass under pressure and the hosts capitalize with an easy goal.

Amass has looked pretty shaky, loose pass for the goal
