U18s: United vs Liverpool

United very much the better side in the opening 25-30 minutes but it’s been more even the last 10 minutes or so.

We have been really poor in Liverpools box, we get in good positions but we can't get decent finishes. The build-up play has been good though. Fitzgerald the best player so far,,

You'd think a club as wealthy as Liverpool would be able to provide us with a better camera angle than this bench view

You can't really blame Liverpool for that....they are not at home :)

Agree. It’s really a shame they haven’t brought their equipment to Carrington.

Good play at the corner flag by Scanlon who finds Kukonki. Good low ball into the box and the poacher gets another good goal.

Love it how every single small body movement and touch of Fitzgerald really has a purpose. Such a tidy player to watch.

Fully deserved lead after a good first half performance.

Godwill Kukonki is one of those names that sound like a wonderful exclamation!

Though Bastian Schweinsteiger will always take some beating in that regard. :)

Fitzgerald is easily the best of our U18 midfielders. I think Devaney is slightly overrated here, he needs to stop losing the ball under pressure. Kamason has done some good things but has a habit of running into traffic in our build-up. Mantato good. Biancheri good. Kukonki is impressive in an unfamiliar position. An enjoyable half.

Thought the huge text ”Jimmy Murphy Center” and countless of United logos would’ve given it away. Or the scoreline graphic where United is the home side. ;)
In my defence I only just switched on before HT, I noticed the horrendous camera angle so just automatically assumed it was at Liverpool

He’s mostly played LB with the U18s, the whole pre-season included. Still think LCB is his best position but LB is in no way an unfamiliar position for him.

Yeah I just meant that he is naturally a CB so not easy to be this effective at LB

Not bad experience for him, Plunkett will probably play when he is ready.

I’d say he is more effective and natural as a CB but this is a good way to integrate him to this level. Must be said that I’ve been a bit disappointed in him based on the little I’ve seen this pre-season.

Feels like he’s a bit over-confident or complacent when in possession. Physically he’s already way ahead of 99% of U18 PL players but he should be able to use that more to his advantage. Hope he becomes a bit quicker too.

The commentator asking who'll be graduate number 251.

According to the club, a change in ruling of it meant Toby Collyer is it!

EDIT: Oh, he's just added that as a correction.

This change of ruling is ridiculous. You can't suddenly change after 80 years. Maybe we are in number 400 under the new rules...

Lovely pass by Scanlon to set up the goal. Tidy finish by Fletcher.

Was thinking how Scanlon, Fletcher and Bauman are anonymous and Scanlon with a lovely pass and Fletcher calmly finishes

Adam Lawrence is really establishing himself as a standout coach, same as McKenna did.

Would be absolutely wonderful if both the Fletcher brothers make it at United.

Wouldn't be shocked if Jack makes a sub appearance in the Europa this season.
