U18s: United vs Chelsea

Munro's biggest problem - even if he has improved a lot - is that he still looks a bit uncomfortable on the ball....he could struggle if he is put under pressure by a really tenacious striker.

Kukonki doesn’t even start for the u18s in their strongest lineup. His hype seems to come from simply training with the first team rather than his actual performances. He’s looked weak at u21s level when played there.

I also question the idea of him being fast tbh, he’s looked very slow off the mark and has struggled in every match that involved a high intensity.

He has a lot to learn at u18s level. Don’t think he even effectively uses his strength that much. Reece Munro dominates with his strength and speed at u18s level, Kukonki doesn’t.
He's started 10 of 13 u18 league games and came off the bench for one more. Hes played 1, maybe 2 games with U21s. I would prefer to see him at U21s regularly so we can see if he's up to it or not

Why are you just rattling off stats from transfermarkt?

He’s been benched for all 3 FA Youth Cup matches and the recent Manchester derby. He doesn’t make the u18s strongest starting XI.

He’s played 5 times for the u21s, 4 starts and 1 sub appearance. Thus far, we’ve seen he is in fact not up to it.

Think they had two <17, rest 17 and 18 (like us). Couple of them have had (nominal) first team minutes?

6th in U18 and U21 leagues.
They had 3 u16s in their starting XI and 5/7 subs were u16s. They had 4 2nd years and 4 first years in starting XI.

We had 9 2nd years and 2 first years. We had no u16s in our squad.

Their team was much younger, my post was about their league squad in relation to their league position anyway.

Really great opportunity to bring the FAYC back to its second home this year. We are as strong as I can remember and the rest of u18 look weaker than I can remember, our neighbours the exception. Straight fight between us and them for league and cup it looks like.
We looked just as dominant for most of last season and got knocked out without laying a glove against Swindon.
