U18s in the league so far:
4 matches
4 wins
13 goals scored
1 goal conceded

Gabe Biancheri is our top goalscorer with six goals in four matches. A goal every 49 minutes to be precise. Derby's Charles Ebuka Agbawodikeizu is also on six goals, but his minutes per goal is even crazier - a goal every 37 minutes.

Agbawodikeizu looks like an interesting prospect by the way, having mostly played grassroots football until Derby signed him after a successful trial this summer.

Hopefully we'll see Lusale making his debut and perhaps even Lacey on the bench.

Full table (north):

1) Derby 5 +15 13
2) United 4 +12 12
3) Sunderland 4 +8 12
4) Wolves 4 +4 9
5) Man City 4 +8 7
6) Nottingham 4 -4 6
7) Blackburn 4 -5 6
8) Middlesbrough 5 -6 6
9) Everton 3 -4 3
10) Stoke 5 -5 3
11) Leeds 4 -6 2
12) Newcastle 5 -8 1
13) Liverpool 5 -9 1

I read live on MUTV - but surely that is a joke. Is it april fools day in September ?

It could also be time for James Overy’s debut tomorrow, considering Kamason (who has played full 360/360 minutes in the U18 PL so far) played the whole PL2 match tonight.

Blackburn lost 6-0 to Derby last week - and the last time we played Blackburn, we had 41 goal attempts - 21 on target. I have a feeling this could be a busy 90 minutes for the Blackburn goalie

Nah - must be Kukonki, Armer, Fitzgerald and Plunkett at the back. That's at least how we have linked up earlier this season

You mean Kukonki as RB? Remains to be seen. It’s obvious that Ibson has the players in a numerical order in the tweet so that would suggest you’re wrong. United pretty rarely mess with the numbers/positions.

But yeah who knows. Even Fitzgerald has played RB for England.

Who are the standout players from this group? I've heard Lacey, Biancheri and Ibramigov are pretty highly rated. Anyone else?

Mantato has been pretty good. Lacey has it all to prove after being out injured for so long.

Scanlon's 18th birthday by the way. Hope he gets to celebrate it with a nice win.

There are so many - it's almost impossible to pick just a few.

Defensively I would say only Amass really looks special - even if a few of them look really talented.

Central midfield - Fletcher is really skilled - but Devaney is the one who has impressed me the most.

Attacking midfield/Wingers - so many to pick from. Williams always scores or gets assists, Mantato is a bit more inconsistent but has a higher ceiling. Lacey is unstoppable on his day - like a young Bernardo Silva, but is a bit lightweight and injured a lot.

Attackers: Wheatley and Biancheri both have improved a lot over the last 12 months.

Yeah maybe you are right - they do switch around a bit to try players in different positions. Kukonki has played left back or left central defender when I have seen him.

It's pretty interchangeable, which is always a good thing. Even Scanlon played RB for the first team in pre-season.

Looks like Devaney will be RB based on squad numbers.

Delighted to see Lacey on the bench. Was really shocked to see Munro there also. He feels like a bit of a forgotten man, but I rate him highly. Looked like our best centre back prospect at the start of last season. Hoping for a big season for both

Man it’s nice to see a team numbered 1 to 11. I always thought academy players had their own numbers though? Been a while since I watched them. Maybe I’m misremembering?
I don't think they did. Atleast not since I started watching regularly.

Only in UEFA Youth League and EFL Trophy. Maybe in PL International Cup too.

I know he's only 17 but I would love to see him get some minutes for the 1st team . He is just a natural goalscorer. Reminds me of Chicharito

13’

Armer does well to lose his defender in the corner and gets a free header. Should’ve got it on target.

16’

Biancheri’s turn to get a free header at the back post. Tight angle but looked like an easy ball to head in for a second goal. Too much power on it and the header goes over the bar.

I guess his issue will be Hojlund, Zirkzee and Wheatley are ahead at this moment. Potentially Chido too but we need to wait and see on that one.

21’

Good play from Mantato, Blackburn keeper saves Scanlon’s effort.

Biancheri almost slides the ball in a minute later.

Biancheri almost scores again. Their GK saves well.

Elsewhere Sunderland who have won all of their four matches are 0-2 down against Man City after 15 minutes.

24’

Mantato booked for a bit of a late ”stamp” on the opponent’s heel.
