Tyler Dibling

He was also very good in his first match against us. Blazing speed. We have nothing of the sort in the squad.

Reminds me of Aston Villa Grealish. We should be signing this type of player.
Thought more Grealish, than blazing “Bale’esque” speed myself, but either way, would be worth a punt at a decent fee.

Buy now with Southampton to keep him for the rest of the season. This kid in the inside 10 position with Amad as RWB from next season would be immense.

I’d say he’s more Cole Palmer like than Bale. Quick but not exceptionally so but with a silky touch that allows him to glide away from defenders.

Unpopular opinion: I think he’s over rated and haven’t seen anything that really excites me

Be disappointed if he joins one of our rivals. Really like the look of him and think he’ll suit the 10 position nicely

If we were to open talks with him, I’m not sure we’d be the most attractive option for him TBH. Thankfully Spurs aren’t in much better shape because I can see him there. Not sure Newcastle need him but they might try. Annoyingly I can also see Shitty putting in a bid.

He seems quite a biggish lad, but his stats say he's 178 cm (5ft 8.5in), seems bigger to me though.
I just wonder if he could be coached as a RWB, personally, I think Amad is not realistically a Wing Back (173 cm) would rather see him as a link between midfield and the forward player, whereas Dibling may eventually have the physical stature to play in a Wing Back role, he's 19 in February, so still has a couple of years growth to go, and he is quick, not many players will outrun him.
Heights are notoriously innaccurate on football websites especially for youngsters when they might have had growth spurts in intervening years. Definitely looks a lot lankier than 5'9.

Think he's a really bright looking prospect and I wouldn't worry about his productivity at this point in his career when he's playing for a historically bad team and in which he's the main threat for opposition to target. He rinsed Dalot in our first game this season and I've seen him do the same against other PL defenders. Seems to have all the fundamentals and expect that in a more balanced team with other threats, his influence could be more pronounced. Reckon he'd be a great pick up - love these guys that make one on one attacking look easy.

He’s pretty good, but it’s hard to tell how good. It always is at this age anyway. Ross Barkley is an example of a player who to me was similar but significantly better at that age and more exciting. He’s had a decent enough career, but no one is crying for missing out on Ross Barkley.

Yea, some people wanted to spend 100m on Ferguson.
Ferguson got a series of bad ankle injuries which literally could have happened any top player in the world with the same impact. People are acting like he was a talentless hack who got lucky to end up being the highest scoring teenager in the league since Rooney. He was and probably will again be a very good player but will have to learn how to compensate for his impaired mobility/agility. He got butchered from behind by Konate (from memory) and since the injuries hasn't looked anything like he did. He was scoring and assisting at a rate of 3 goals in every 4 90s he played in the league as a 17 year old and a goal every two in his next season. Hojlund didn't manage that as a 19 year old in Italy and went for €80m.

Not sure how anyone's looking a Dibling and thinking he's overrated. If he's powering past premier league defenders at 18 with ease and has great shooting, its a huge sign that (injuries aside), he will become a top player. Also, he's unlikely to go for anywhere near 100m or even 80mn when he's not signing a contract and Southampton are almost certainly going to end up in the championship.

Being the highest scoring teenager doesn't mean anything.

Of course it means something. 17 and 18 year olds usually aren't good enough to get on the pitch and he was doing that and actually excelling as a centre forward. But we were also given eyes to help us make these judgments. Ferguson was playing for his LOI team against Chelsea at 14 and looking impressive, tore it up in PL2 as a 16 year old, has been raved about by his underage coaches as the biggest talent they've coached and for his first PL goal he outmuscled William Saliba off the ball. People think a young prodigy should look like a Michael Owen but his game was never like that and so people turned their noses up at him and when he got injured, they just said he was overrated all along.

Yes he's physically developed early, so what? Happens and is not a indicator of longer term talent.

You are very easily impressed, he's not shown any other talents that are amazing or stand out. He's developed early and is decent at other things, that's it.

You are reading way too much into 6 goals in 19 games.

The kid looks a real talent and wouldn’t mind signing him for a decent fee but selling Garnacho for £60m and signing Dibling for £55m would be incredibly dumb!

It might be an upgrade in the long term, but it would be a downgrade in the short term.

However, the feckery of PSR is such that it would also leave the club with more room to manouver in the transfer market going forward even if they went for the same price.

Diblings a better player in my opinion. Garnacho may have better output but when you compare what they do on the pitch he's clearly more talented.

Thing is, he favours the right hand side. Doesn't work unless we maybe consider Amad as a wingback.

Being linked with us as a replacement for Garnacho.
Think this would be a great signing to replace Garnacho. He's the closest player I've seen to Gareth Bale with his size, explosiveness, dribbling and ability on the ball. Ready to explode in terms of output so good time to sign him.

Amad has been great and just as productive at wing back though. Think this would be a perfectly acceptable compromise. Also, Dibling's only a teenager and so will be plenty of rotation.

Looks like a good player, but would keep Garnacho and sign him

Rashford and Antony out, Dibling in.

For me Garnacho's replacement would need to be a more established player, our attack already has too much inexperience

I rate Dibling. I think he looks like a very composed and cultured player who can progress into a effective, well rounded attacker.
Fans will naturally compare him to Garnacho though, even though they're completely different type of forward players

Think it's just familiarity bias. Garnacho demonstrably has done more at this level, and is still incredibly young too. His output is actually immense, and he also has plenty of potential to get better. Plus he's playing 50 games a season right now.

Dibbling might look good in flashes, and definitely has a lovely fluidity but there nothing to suggest he'll be better than Garnacho imo.

Would be absolutely mental in pure football terms to 'swap' them. Only reason would be PSR.

Well, one other reason would be if Garnacho really just does not want to be there anymore and is showing that in training.

That Surname needs an R to be almost perfect.

If he was named Tider Dribling could be such a bless and a curse

In any case with his current surname, if he doesn't play well the "it's sthg missing in his dibling" might get too common

Unsure what the plan would be between him and Amad but he looks a heck of a talent.

Since there is zero chance realistically of Southampton staying up I could see this happening, without it be an astronomical fee.
