I'm neither drunk nor tired. I just don't see why it's beyond the wit of man to consider that we can make more than one signing. I just suggested maybe we do need to look at signing a striker. Suddenly that meant we can't sign a CM or I'm tired or drunk?

I seriously don't see why we need one when we're not in Europe, Wellbeck stepped up whilst RVP and Rooney was injured last season and I don't see why he wouldn't again, then we also have young Wilson coming through the ranks.

We have a very good set of Strikers as it is already for what we have coming up next season I feel.

Well maybe if we're not in Europe but if the vacancy arises I'd do it. I think we have to assemble a squad for next season with an eye to the one after. It's unlikely we'll get another "£120m" to spend summer 2015, so we really have to think about getting together a team as if we were in Europe or at least one that'd be just one or two signings away next summer.

As much as we need him, I really don't wanna see Pogba back here. It still hurts, and spunking £60 million to get him back would feel wrong. That's an absurd amount of money.

Imo we got what we deserved - even if it hurts to say it. There were so many chances to use Pogba and Ferguson chose not to. He was good enough, he was in many matches better than what we used, and still we decided not to.

I would gladly have him back - even at £60 million - but it is not gonna happen

Yeah, a discussion thread for tweets (preferably from semi reliable sources).

In the last 3 pages most posts have been discussing the Guardian's Pogba tweet, The Mail's Bayern trio tweet or rightfully mocking that ridiculous Ronaldo tweet. I don't see the problem.

I don't know about anyone else but I just follow this thread for tweets. It would be nice to have at least a couple of tweets per page.

I don't get the point in that thread. The tweets will end up in this thread anyway.

The point is, whoever posts a tweet, needs to do in both the threads. That way, people who are only interested in tweets can go to that thread and read everything at once rather than going through pages in this for a couple of tweets. But it may be too much work.

It doesn't take long to scroll through a page and stop when you see something embedded. Posting in both threads is tedious and makes no sense if some of the tweets aren't exactly earth shattering.

They're meant to be posted in both. People need to be encouraged to get into the habit of posting any tweet into both threads. That way people can check that thread for a quick reference if they just want to see what tweets have been posted recently without scanning past the chat surrounding it like you have to do it this thread or they can join in discussion about them in this thread.

So it doesn't take long to search through 3 pages of discussion to find 3 tweets but taking an extra 15 seconds to post the tweet in both threads is "tedious". Superb logic.

I know, I do the same..but the idea behind the two threads is that albeit useless since the two aren't updated simultaneously.

It's tedious for the person posting the tweet. It really doesn't take long to go through a couple pages every hour or so. If you're checking every ten minutes then you should expect a lot of bullshit.

Pogba and Barkley - now that would be a midfield that will dominate the P.L for the next 10 years. That is what we should use £100 million on.

100 million would get a Fabregas-Schweinsteiger midfield and Hummels too. It wouldn't be very good idea to splash all of that on Pogba and Barkley.

I'd choose Verratti or Kovacic over Barkley.

Pogba won't stay anywhere, 5 years. His agent needs money.

Barkley could be an absolute superstar in the future - one of those players you build a side around. Has all the tools - pace, power and an eye for goal.

Long term he's going to be a number 10 though, rather than a central midfielder.

So do Kovacic and Verratti TBF. No slight on Barkley but they'll be easier and cheaper to sign. Plus I feel they're ahead of him in terms of development.

Koke and Pogba is the one. Bit of everything in there, both can go forward and both can defend. A midfield for a decade. Not sure anyone could ever produce it though.

Woodward and Van Gaal doesn't seem to have a clue on who their signing. Both are targeting unrealeastic targets such as Hummels, Cesc, Vidal etc, what about Carvalho, Witsel, Kovacic, Mangala and Rodriguez from Wolfsburg, those guys are realistic and would massively improve us.

Rephrase that to we don't have a clue who they're signing. Just because we don't know, doesn't mean they don't know.

Depends how you look at it - for £100 million you get a pair that will dominate the P.L for 10 years - with Fabregas and Schweinsteiger you get players that might dominate for 2-3 years.

Look at it this way - De Gea, Jones, Rafael, Shaw, Pogba, Barkley, Welbeck, Januzaj, Wilson - all 24 years or younger - now that could easily be the start of a team that´could dominate the P.L for 10 years.

I can see few better ways to spend £120 million than Shaw, Pogba and Barkley. Schweinsteiger and Fabregas fine - but they will last 3-5 years at best.
