fantastic from Delaney. Absolutely spot on and hopefully some will now realise that Woodward just fecked it up again. There is no chance in hell you can do that much business in 14 days.

I thin it will be Rojo, Blind and maybe if we are desperate Di Maria.

If woody thinks the fees quoted so far are too expensive , what the feck does he think is going to happen now in the last 2 weeks of the window?

fecking hell. What an absolute bellend he is.

Retarded planning on an epic level.

Exactly. Two windows running now and the same quote of top players and agents queuing up to sign for us. Add we can spend up to £80m on a player speech what the hell does he expect. If it's all a big lie and we have drained our war chest already just say that. Otherwise stop trying to negotiate for world class stars with mid level offers.

They're in a different place financially now as to what they were 2 years ago when RVP was sold to us, no sense in offering £20 million+ for him as he isn't worth that, it's Barca coming in, and him losing his nerve that cost us.

Re Smalling his isn't first team quality, and IMO never will be.

Agreed. Have always thought this even though he can be a solid defender on his day. On the ball he is an absolute shambles. Him and Jones both shit themselves when they have the ball.

Of course he's not worth that in the open market, but this isn't an open market situation. Of course we're going to pay a premium to take a player off our direct competition and we wouldn't have moved for him without knowing that.

On Smalling, surely even someone who only sees him as a backup would be able to understand that getting rid one of our 3 centrebacks to sign another centreback puts us no better off?

Great, signing Di Maria will now be called desperation.

I said this would happen
United can't win now ( in every sense perhaps)

Thought this for while, he often looks like he is about to fall over the ball when he is trying to pass it, can head it, and hoof it, and is pretty quick, that's about it.

Jury still out on Jones for me, time running out a bit now though, if he's still not improving by end of season then time to move on IMHO.

Signing a first teamer in exchange for a backup, just promote Keane to take his place.

You misunderstood me, not that I don't want him or think we are overpaying, just that I don't think that without this much pressure that Woodward actually pays the money for him.
You're right United can't win anymore, because they can't get the quality required anymore or that LvG wanted. He wanted Vermaelen and got shit. He wanted probably Vidal and didn't get him. Even said that we don't have a wide player with the class of Di Maria and still didn't get any reinforcements.

Woodward couldn't sell the deadwood for good prices and hasn't gotten the deals in LvG wanted. If you want that confirmed you can wait another 2 weeks, but Woodward already showed that he is even more out of depth than Moyes was.

It's infuriating how our midfield has been allowed to slide into it's current state of absolute fecking shit.
It all comes down to not strengthening our squad when we were winning, we could all see it coming but we got away with it thanks to Sir Alex.

Well, if we get Di Maria, and he does really well for us, then it would be insane to worry too much about how losing the first game was the only reason we bought him!

I've never thought we'd get Di Maria. I still assume a deal with PSG will happen. But any deal for Di Maria was always going to happen late, like Oezil last year. Real are in the happy situation of being able to see how the season begins before deciding.

I think if I played in the same team as Messi and gave him the ball (or tried to) every single time I got it then I would have got more assists than those lot last season.

What? Messi doesn't play for Chelsea mate.

Jones , Evans and smalling have not kicked on in my opinion . I know they have bin played all over the shop which has not helped but I'd much prefare us when we have 1 centre half with a bit of biff ala vidic , Bruce and complemented with a ball player with a bit of finesse like pally and rio .
The way jones plays is like a headless chicken and his positional sense is really poor . Its only the fact that hes lightning quick that pulls him out of the shit

Smalling looks like hes nailed together (bit like frank Bruno) and is very one footed . He lacks concentration and is a poor organiser for someone in the middle of a back 3 .

Evans is in my opinion the best of the 3 and hes the most comfortable on the ball . The trouble with johnny is hes never fit and cant be counted on to play 80% of a seasons games . If fit he would fit well with a tough uncompromising centre half in the vidic mode but his injury record tells me he can only be counted on as a squad player .

In a nut shell we need 2 centre backs to take us forward and more importantly an holding mid to protect them .

Different mate, as RM had to wait for the Bale deal to be pushed through before selling him. Levy tried to stall the Bale deal because he knew Özil was going to Arsenal right after that. Both sides want it and United tries to lower the price again, which simply isn't possible with Real.

I don't worry about him missing the first match, just that if a really competent person would be far far more advanced in the RM talks. I mean PSG knew what Madrid wanted and just couldn't pay it because of FFP. But United isn't anywhere near that far in negotiations.

According to most reports Van Gaal wanted a DM, defenders and a world class wide player. Woodward delivered none of it.

If the foundations of that article are truthful, as seems to be the case, thats going to be the end of us competing at the top for a very very long time, we dont have another class of 92 waiting in the wings to bail us out. and i dont count a 4th place trophy as competing, were not arsenal, yet we would snap someones hand off if it was offered now. fascicle its come to this.

I wonder what would have happened if we hadn't had the Class of '92?

You mean farcical? If so yes, turns out the loss of David Gill is an even bigger hole to fill than Ferguson.

They're just reports. We don't know what VG has asked for. I had my own list of 5 players I thought we needed, written on here 2 months ago. I had a winger on the list, but lower priority compared to defence and central midfield. I'm sure journos have made similar lists. But I very much anyone knows what conversations VG has had with Woodward. Di Maria may not even by on our list.

Jan Hagen who wrote that is a Liverpool fan. When he was linked to Liverpool a month back he made a piece on him and raved about him. Now that it look likely that he has signed for us and he has turned to shit.

I actually have watched Sporting some and I think he will be a fans favorite, he is strong, fast and tough as hell. He gives his all in duels. He is a bit like Heinze in the matter of effort and energy and that can sometimes cause him to rush into attackers that are facing away from goal instead of taking out depth for runs around him.

When it comes to technical ability, I can't think of anyone better.

I'm actually happy about this signing.

Thanks for the input. I knew something was wrong in the way Rojo got nailed by that nobody.

At this rate, it may not be long before someone screams "Neville out". Being the huge Moyes apologist he was last season, he has gone downhill since whenever he says anything regarding United. He should be banned from saying anything about the club.

Correct, when it comes to all matters MUFC Gary Neville talks pure shit.

People like Neville and Scholes are the ones who United need, people who criticise United, that makes the club better, not sticking up feathers in eachothers arseholes.

That quote can't be real. Surely we're not that fecking retarded to gawk at an extra 2m? Surely?

How can you not believe it. Biggest club on the planet when it comes to fans and sponsorship, biggest embarrassment when it comes to transfers.

Van Gaal said he wanted new players, even back in the US and that this team isn't good enough to compete for the title. Even without those reports, it's just logical thinking that a man that hated the US tour because he wanted a proper pre season, would've loved it to have more time with a few of his own players?

Anything other than Woodward completely fecking this window up is hard to explain, logically.
