They said that he proposed himself to Madrid and Man utd, and that he is seeking for at least 5m, not that madrid offered him that

Since we need him and Madrid not really, we could be in pole position.

Yeah, when it comes to Real Madrid and us that doesnt stop players.

Varane
Benzema
Modric
Bale
Ronaldo

And I am sure more chose to join Real rather than join/stay with us

Yes you're right about the wages bit. But I was just saying that that tweet is misleading.

I think that they are reading between the lines.

- Bayern don't want to sell a virus to Van Gaal
- Guardiola don't want to sell a virus to Madrid
- Kroos wants to earn as much as Gotze, meaning 10m but will accept 5m.
- United can offer 10m
- Madrid need money for Suarez or Cavani and more than 10m for the wage

But they seems to forget that Sammer is the DOF not Guardiola and that it seems that the Bayern Munich want Khedira.

@Ramshock : I think you are right but your exemples are very bad.

Varane and Benzema -> Zidane
Modric and Bale -> Moyes and Levy
Ronaldo -> he won everything with us and wanted to join his dream club

People could just join twitter instead and decide which tweets to follow for themselves. It's much easier that way and is how twitter actually works.

Not really. I'm on Twitter but don't follow any of the journos or the other spurious types whose Tweets are posted in the threads.

Didn't Madrid try to sign Verratti last season but he wanted to stay at PSG?

Either way why are Madrid after midfielders while they are well stacked in those positions. We should really be in for Verratti he'd me a dream signing.

Surely Veratti is just a link because of Ancelotti
I don't think so, I'm sure they tried to get him last summer but Verratti wanted to stay at PSG.

Also I can't imagine Ancelotti not going for him his the closest thing to Pirlo.

Can't see why he'd leave PSG, he wouldn't be an instant starter in CM for RM imo with their personnel

With David Luiz coming in, who is potentially going to be assuming a DM role there, his options may seem limited there too. He's not even first choice at PSG and with Motta, Matuidi, Cabaye and Luiz all there he will struggle (even though I think he is one of their best midfielders).

Common sense dictates Luiz goes into CB surely, and Cabaye isn't superior to Veratti so that's a matter of time, he clearly has a higher ceiling than any of them, he won't struggle for game time in the slightest IMO, moreover, at his age, there's only Pogba that I can think of who gives him a run.

Since when he is not first choice ?

Cabaye is the one rotting on the bench and David Luiz will play in defense next to Silva. Alex is gone.

Verratti is first choice in PSG's midfield it's hard to see him leave and stall his development sitting on Madrids bench

Common sense doesn't come into play with using David Luiz though. They already have two quality CBs in Marquinhos and Thiago Silva, the two previous most expensive CBs in the world, and David Luiz has been playing DM more than CB this season for Chelsea, and doing a much bettter, more reliable job at it. Out of Motta, Matuidi and Verratti, Marco played the least out of all them, and I see that being the case again next season. This is all a hunch and not destined to happen by any means. I would much rather him stay at PSG than fuel the talent-consuming machine that is Real.

Common sense saw them paying 40 fecking million for David Luiz.

Motta is getting older so if PSG do plan on using Luiz in midfield than I guess it'll be Luiz/Matuidi/Verratti

He played the least because he has been expelled a few times, collection yellow cards and needed some rest around christmas

Without being rude, have you seen them play? Marquinhos is a kid, albeit a good one, he's not at DL's level yet, he's one for the future. He will play alongside Silva. Where David Luiz played for Chelsea couldn't be further from the point, as they clearly never identified his best position, but analysing weakness in their squads, I would opt to play him in CM, hence I said common sense dictates.. Furthermore, you predict he won't see more games? a 21 year old promising midfielder won't get better? he was also injured turn of the year which made it harder for him and still got around 25 appearances. He is one of their main midfielders and will remain so unless sold, however they won't be selling due to "not needing" if they do.

I would imagine that is how they line up too. However, if these Pogba links are true, then they clearly feel they want another CM for some strange reason. I guess it does make sense to want a more attack-minded CM in that team, as all of their CMs are defensive minded, and Pogba would add another dimension. The question then is who gets dropped? Matuidi was their most used player last season, and I would regard him as their first choice CM. That leaves two places up for grabs, and having 3 defensive players in the centre of midfield restricts their attack greatly.

Very true, and if you'd asked me about the fee prior to me knowing, I'd have laughed at that price, but to spend that amount then lump him into a 2 man midfield? There's not much sense and brain dead... He may not be worth the money, but I'll imagine they will get a fair bit back through sales/ revenues/ merchandise etc

If Pogba were to join its hard seeing who gets dropped or sold. If he did join we should definitely tempt a bid for Verratti but I'd imagine his settled in Paris.

And they play in a 3 men midfield which means no room for David Luiz in midfield, he won't take Matuidi place.
And common sense says Alex gone, David Luiz will replace him.

Of course I have seen them play, otherwise I wouldn't be writing about them would I? Although Marquinhos is far from being the finished product (20 years old right?) he had a good string of games in Ligue 1 this season , and I can see him getting more game time the next barring any injuries. The safe money would say that their main pairing next season is Luiz and Silva, but it wouldn't surprise me if we saw more of David Luiz in DM and Marquinhos at CB.

As for the bolded part, now you are just putting words in my mouth. Where did I say he wasn't going to get any better, and where did I predict 100% he won't get more game time? I said nothing of him improving, because he will most certainly prove, and I said it may be the case that he won't get much more game time than he did this season. I also never used the words "not needed" so more words in mouth.

Then you didn't saw them enough , Marquinhos played in CB in the first month but he wasn't good enough (Thiago Silva asked to play with Alex), so they used him in RB when Van der wiel was still poor and Jallet marginalised.

But Van der Wiel took finally the place and Jallet has been used as backup.

Marquinhos this season has been mostly a 3rd choice in the CB and RB positions, but he is seen as a great propect

To be fair, I've been mostly watching PSG in 2014 and missed a lot of the first 3 months. Still thought he was good when I saw him

He is but Alex was better and Thiago Silva loves Alex. Marquinhos is going to be something special, if he quit PSG.

Sounds like a nice way of saying "we don't need either of them therefore are not interested" - without burning bridges with players her formerly coached.
