Before the Juve fans ruined our fun and made the Vidal thread private, quite a few were saying Conte wouldn't stand for Vidal being sold. Unless it was at an insane figure anyway.

Hopefully a good thing from a selfish United point of view. However it won't make it easier for them to find a new manager if they sell one of, if not the, best player.

This perhaps, and the fact he apparently didn't want either Pogba or Vidal sold.

Could be a combination of both, Tuttosport claims that it's due to Vidal leaving, which seems a bit strange for a Turin newspaper if it isn't even part of the truth.

This will stall any negotiations with Vidal. The new manager will want to assess things first and we will have another Barca-Fabregas situation on our hands.

Waiting for a reputable source to confirm Conte's resignation, but if he does resign, Vidal is definitely ours.

feck, someone really needs to do a rap to the tune of rappers delight, except in this alternate universe it is actually muppets delight.

go my minions, create sweet sweet music

Juve would have zero trouble getting a new manager.

Moyes is available.

Hard to predict how this would change the transfer of Vidal. Conte could've been holding it up perhaps... Vidal might be even more inclined to leave now Conte has quit. But on the flipside, they may not sell anyone now until a manager is appointed. Do they have a DOF?

He said himself that the club may have to sell to reinvest for a change in pattern IIRC last leason.

IF his resigning is to do with Vidal, then bringing in a new manager won't change the outcome, or delay anything.

Juve will hire a new manager specifically telling them that Vidal will be sold, if he hasn't been sold by that point already. If they've decided the money on offer is too much to turn down they won't delay the deal to let prospective managers talk him out of it.

You know precisely feck all about that. If Conte left because they sold/want to sell Vidal to us why on Earth would it stall anything? It's not like the new manager will have a say in it anyway.

Not if he's left because of the boards intent to sell players.

That surely hasn't really just happened...

Very widespread right now on twitter that Conte resigned possibly due to Juve sanctioning the sale of Vidal.

Suspect that one of the topics of their talks was Vidal, and Juve's board either told him that Vidal will be leaving, or that they couldn't guarentee he'd stay if they get a big enough offer.

You have to remember that at clubs like Juve the manager has feck all say in transfer dealings, even to the point where they don't have the major input on who the club's transfer targets are.

Wonder what all that was over. Wonder if he's been offered the Brazil job

Can only be good news as far as the Vidal front is concerned. Juve fans were being extremely cocky when they said that Conte wouldn't be having any of this selling Vidal business, turns out they were right but not in a way they would have imagined

The English (if it hasn't been posted by the time I get to doing it).

Shocking event at Juventus: Antonio Conte has resigned. As reported by Giovanni Guardalà, Conte didn’t accept the three-year renewal proposed by the club and has decided not to stay on the bench with an expiring contract and not to stay in the locker room with little enthusiasm and conviction. It’s a suprise, but Conte hinted it many times in the past months. Conte is no longer Juventus’ coach, it will be announced shortly. There will be updates to understand the reasons of this decision and the future of Juventus’ bench.
