I'm genuinely curious, why does Tom McDermott have his tweets posted (prior to being banned)? Is it simply that he claims to have written for a number of publications? Couldn't that all be made up?

Anyone able to find the actual article about this? I've searched for 5 minutes now, but haven't been able to find anything that suggest this is real.

It's the Di Marzio report from couple of days ago. Was linked in this thread and should be on his site.

He also works for Sky Italia and is generally reliable. Broke the Evra transfer first among many others he has.

The fact that Tancredi originally broke Vidic to Inter suggests the reliability of sources may not always be an indicator of the accuracy of the tweet.

Thank you, appreciate it ;)

Thought so, just strange to post it now as if it's new information.

Not sure but I think Di Marzio broke that one first too, Tancredi just quoted his report as he usually does saying Sky Italia or Di Marzio.

Good news if true. Sky Italy is always wrong.

Look we are not going to get him or DiMaria, you can see it coming a mile off and we have been here so many times in recent years.
Our transfers tend to happen fairy quick, often out of the blue or transfers with little KNOWN complications like Mata and RVP.
Vidal, DiMaria and Hummels etc are all the long winded, Twitter filled, '50/50' style transfers that we always end up losing because we took too long or we were haggling to get the price down and some other team swoops in and takes them or we refuse to pay a $2mil agent fee etc, the Lucas Moura's, Sneijders, Fabregas, Thiago's of this world.

The Man Utd. official must have walked out of the conference room to take a bathroom break. Talk will resume in sometime.

its amazing the amount of people saying its not happening as if they are trying to keep themselves grounded in case it turns out like moura or ronadinho again.

Lol yeah the Shaw deal wasn't long winded at all

No probs mate. Dont know if you use that site, but i'm never off it to be honest. The main thing you notice is that many stories (on there) from other sites etc. are reported word for word. They're not even disguising the fact they're doing it..

Still useful to get your United fix of stories doin the rounds though! :)

I looked at his wiki, and yeah he was there when they were relegated, still don't remember him when he was in the Premiership though.

He scored some goals in the PL in the early 2000's. He was a pretty well known player for many reasons.

"Reverse jinx" - i like your style.

Keep up the good work pal

Atleast you have your mental health man - thats the important thing...

Yep! He's probably one of those guys that I'd remember if I watched him again. (off to find season review video).

Anyway, enough about the Goater (sounds like an interesting hobby), and on with the Vidal and Di Maria transfer news!

I'd love to be wrong, in fact Vidal and Di Maria would improve us VASTLY but i just don't trust us with these types of top class transfers, we have been burnt too many times.
The fact that we finally seem willing to spend some real money for a change does give slight optimism but i'm not going to hold my breath.

Well its not a 'rule' obviously and to be honest, i never really doubted we would get Shaw, it was all a question of price.

EDIT: Plus i was talking more about the huge name players.

I know what you mean, I expect all of us think the same a wee bit.
I am 50/50 on both transfers. My muppet is going crazy, hopefully we will hear more on our targets next week when LVG gets back from the WC
