I'd think Van Gaal is flying straight to California to join the preseason squad rather than to Manchester and then to USA.
According to reports, he will be in Manchester on Monday.
Torn on that, while he would be better than anything we currently have in Seattle I'm not sure he's what we need at the moment. Would have to adjust our formation and tactics as we play a 4-4-2 and there is no way he is playing in a 2 man midfield.

Yep, as good as it'd be for us and Shaw to have him mentoring and deputising where needed, it's probably not good for a guy who has been a 100% starter for 8 or so years to now be second choice to a kid.
People are always shouting how much Evra loves United and all. I am sure he can have stay back to mentor Shaw. Its not like we have treated badly or anything even after being poor for large parts in last 2 seasons.
