I tend not to to take much heed from reports that can't be confirmed. One google search on Nani wages already raises doubts on your estimate from the first result.

Because Lucas is a good player. They can pay £10m or so or look elsewhere. No doubt they'll be back in for Reina on loan as well as Agger.

I dont get it either. If he was joining City or Chelsea i'd understand, but Arsenal? Even with Sanchez, they're further away from a Champions League trophy than we are, and we're not even in the tournament this season.
As much as I would enjoy Sanchez #7 at United, I'd rather improve other positions.

He'll only have 1 extra day even if he loses in the semi final. Third place play off is the day before the final.

The first match isn't until the 23rd so there would be a significant gap between the final and the LA Galaxy match.
Also, I was at the last US tour (also during a WC year) and the likes of Rooney and several other England players weren't there - given extended breaks. I'd imagine RvP will definitely not be there until one of the later matches - otherwise the England players should have at least a couple of weeks off since getting back and should be there - along with loanees and youngsters.
Van Gaal has said he will be there day 1 which is brilliant news.
Van Persie, Fellaini, Chica and Januzaj will get extended breaks but I believe the players who went out at the group stages are expected to be there to fly out on the 17th.
