Does this Jan Hagen dude own a stake in Carvalho or something? He seems almost desperate for the move to go ahead.

Zubizarreta (sports director): "Luis Suarez? Won't comment as sports director, just saying that it honours him that he apologized." #fcblive

Zubizarreta: "Centre back? We know what we want and are working on it, like many other teams - so far, only transfer has been David Luiz."

---

With Barca/City (potentially Chelsea) and a few other all looking for CB's this summer, I think we will struggle to sign one if we don't get out act together. Apparently Benitia is pretty much City bound, will be a huge fee hopefully. cnuts.

Zubizarreta (sports director): "Pogba, Vidal rumours? We know both players well, but they're not on our list, we have midfield covered."

Then spell the damn thing like that.

EDIT: What's with the tagline?
It's not new, is it?
Henry was On-Ry. Arjen is Aryen.
It's probably how they pronounce it in Colombia.

The tag is from what I said I wanted City to beat Barca in the CL matchday thread.

Herrera, Vidal and Carvalho.. wow, it would be immense! but what about Mata? :(

We could just play a front 3 with it changing every other week. With the 3-5-2 / 442 diamond you could throw nani or januzaj up front to add pace and the ability to beat a man, like robben for the dutch atm.
Or if were playing a team thats just going to park 10 players inside their own box then you can drop carvalho and have mata drop into midfield with herera and vidal doing a bit more defensive work.

Zubizarreta: "Alexis and Pedro rumours? There have been offers for Alexis, we'll see what will happen. Pedro is not for sale." #fcblive

Mark ogden in telegraph today.

Budget:
£150-200m

Strategy: Manchester United are planning a major summer spending spree which will focus on between five and six new signings. Key areas of attention are the back four and central midfield, but they may also add to their attacking options.

Who calls the shots? Ed Woodward, the executive vice-chairman, will be tasked with sealing the deals after being handed a list of targets by Louis van Gaal. Woodward has already spent months working on moves for players identified by David Moyes.

Best case: United have completed deals for Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera for £30m and £29m respectively and want to at least one more defender and another energetic, creative midfielder. They are likely to bid for Juventus's Arturo Vidal, who starred for Chile at the World Cup. United are determined to flex their muscles this summer.

Worst case:
That this summer is the same as the last one, when United chased big targets and ended up with none of them. The pressure is on Woodward to deliver the big names that he has been chasing for months. Van Gaal’s delayed start due to the World Cup could become a problem.

Likely to leave: As many as 10 players could go, but the cull is likely to be smaller simply to avoid a threadbare squad next season. Nemanja Vidic, Rio Ferdinand and Alex Buttner have left, while Juventus and Inter Milan are targeting Nani. Inter also interested in Javier Hernández. Tom Cleverley, Anderson and Ashley Young could find their futures lie elsewhere, too.

On the wanted list: Vidal, plus any of Nigel de Jong, Daley Blind, Stefan De Vrij, Edinson Cavani and William Carvalho.

We are getting solid CM links with quality but our CB hunt seems very bleak, not a single top class defender getting listed at the moment.

Apparently Lallana told Southampton he'd never play for them again. What a way to leave a club.

I'd say he more an inside forward number 10 kinda player.

Beautiful cultured left foot.
I swear every player somehow is a number 10, by 2020 we'll have no other positions left! But I love a good left footed player, might have to watch a bit of him on the old YouTube.
