International ban, I think?Whats the point of a 9 match ban if banned for 4 months?

Any appeal will only have suspensive effect in terms of the fine, not the ban. They'll appeal and he'll be fine for the start fo the season....is my prediction

Jonathan Northcroft @JNorthcroft now
Suarez also banned from any "administrative" football activities. No keeping his hand in with a ticket office job then...
Does this mean he can't be transferred??
Four months would mean he'll miss Liverpool's first 9 games of the PL season... So it's fairly substantial
Sweet. Better than I'd hoped.
The obvious downside is that a transfer away from Liverpool is much less likely now.
That's got to be a record number of games suspended with receiving a red card.Luis Suarez has now been banned for 34 games since 2010 without receiving a single red card. What a joker! #URU
They'll be out by then anyway.Plus I think he'll miss around 3 champions league games... I think
Gosh I hope toothy and Uruguay appeal the ban.
At first I thought this was a good ban but on reflection it's not enough IMO as he would be available by the end of October. If it didn't kick in until August then it'd be a lot fairer
It's the third time he's done this. It's basically the same punishment as last year (around 10 Liverpool matches). The Uruguayan matches he misses are in the World Cup, so he'll miss one this year, then the next would be in 2018...I really don't think you could expect anything stronger. I certainly didn't. Even if the season doesn't start in two months, it's still four months where he (probably) can't even train and perhaps can't transfer either, plus around 15-20 competitive games (club + country) that he'll miss. It's a very strong statement.
Very controversial that Liverpool can't appeal but I guess that will probably happen anyway.
