To be fair, I think they're 4th aint they? I think thats what he meant.
 
Wording is a little too strong. Mind you, the fact they are in the 3rd pot means everyone WILL really want to avoid them.

Makes sense to me. Based on the strength of the team, they are in the top 10 in the competition, yet they linger in pot 3 of the draw. A top team from pot one (e.g. Barca or RM) can easily draw City and AC Milan.

Other teams to avoid are Napoli and Dortmund in group D.

Could end up with Barca, AC Milan, Man City and Dortmund in a real group of death. Clearly Barca would win the group though. But still, its a toughie.
 
He also said that Nasri to Man Utd is all but done.

how is the draw done? are city in pot 3 or something in which case they would not be the automatic top team in the group. which makes them a very nasty proposition to have in your group as a lesser team. so the journo may be referring to them being a nasty proposition for any of the top teams to have in their group as a lesser team. makes sense to me. city are a dangerous side now and are potentially the most feared team to have in your group if you are a top seed

Top 2 teams in each group go through to the next stage though don't they. It'll be pot 2 teams who are most at risk of not qualifying.

yeah but that normally means you can look at the 1st and second seeds as favourites. if you add city to your group things get a little tasty for qualification. not sure many third seed teams will have a squad like theirs. (assuming I understand the draw properly)

it does seem as though he thinks City are the best team in the competition.

Not that it matters. He's entitled to his opinion.
