'Bid will be accepted if nothing goes wrong' - he'll tweet tomorrow saying asking price is £40 million that is why the bid has not been accepted (ie. something went wrong).

haha yep!
Btw he said 7 hours ago that:

Apparently Tottenham rejected Manchester Untied bid for Modric. They are asking for £35m pure-cash. #MUFC

Don't believe it for 1 second!

Contravenes our way of doing transfers since the Glazers came.

First - in a transfer season we bid for the cheapest players first. If we bid for the most expensive players first, then clubs say 'you spend x on this player so our player is worth at least that'. We actually got better at this under the Glazers.

IF (it's a big if) we bid 27m on Sanchez - there's no way we go straight to 35m on Modric. We would await the complete outcome of Sanchez first, and/or go to Schneider.

Next we only bid once we already know that the player is interested in a move. Modric seems interested in a move to Chelsea - there's nothing that says he's interested in us as far as I know.

I could be wrong - but I don't believe this one.

Seriously... why bother posting that sort of thing here? It just gives him more readers.

I think changing the name to 'The Twitter Bullshit thread' would give people a better idea of the quality of this stuff.

Why are you posting tweets from a self-confessed wum? You're wasting your time reading them in the first place. The bloke's admitted he makes the stuff up. ffs you might as well just make them up yourself.

Plenty of Twitter chat suggesting #MUFC will bid £35m for #Modric early next week. That'd be in addition to finalising #DeGea transfer

Have you not read the posts above this?

Last week before David Gill goes on holiday..Are we expecting any fireworks in the transfer front?? #MUFC

Never knew gill is gonna go on holiday. So any new signings if any, need to be on hold before gill comes back.

yeah, it would just be too difficult to do any business whilst away from the office. iPhones, Blackberries, Mobile phones, emails and faxes are just too difficult. One needs a physical office to work from

Yeah, everyone knows that transfer dealings are always done face to face. No club has ever faxed a transfer bid. That'd just be weird.

probably to rest and recuperate after a long season.

Are you being sarcastic? If you are, then you're being very naive if you dont think being the chairman of the biggest club in the world isnt all that difficult. I doubt there'll be any significant movements on the transfer front whilst he's on holiday.

Weird.

i do hate it when fans go on about blackberries and technology when fergie or gill are on holiday. The whole point of a holiday is to get away from all that, so it wouldnt surprise me if all transfer dealings come to a short break.

Eh, people like them never get away from their job.

I'd imagine that Gill has appointed an advisor or something that can handle most of the negotiations in his place, who will contact him if/when he is needed to finalise things in contracts or whatever. So while he is still on holiday, he could come back at a moment's notice if need be.

This is 2011.

On holiday all a modern CEO needs is a iPhone, blutooth and a laptop (and in some cases a sexy Natasha if you don't have your family with you) then you are on the run. A lot of biz is going on when you are doing the most bizarre things and I'm quite sure that Oliver has thought his father the basic stuffs.

Off course both Sir Alex and Mr Gill is always stand by and ready to make decisions. They don't need to be in Manchester to negotiate with agents and selling clubs. There is probably a few selected and trusted people who have the mobile number to Gill and Fergie and if Modric is available (or near Manchester airport) they will know.

We will present our new players when the pre season tour starts and then they will be back.

So relax Kermit! Don't let the Muppet in you go on holiday.

Please let this be true

WikiTransfersAccording to tomorrow's Mirror, #MUFC have made a £15m bid for Thiago Alcantara

Of course it's not true, just lazy journalism following a player having a good tournament

Like I said things will pick up after U21`s! Bids Thiago-MUFC & Mata-AFC are both true! Im sure other teams will also make moves soon!

He renegotiated the clause in Jan and the release clause is apparently 30m Euro now.

Expecting some big transfers this week. Hopefully we will also finish our last transfer business of the season before the weekend.

Yeah, £15 quid is kind of taking the piss.

If you've already said £15, doesn't that make saying "quid" a bit redundant? It's like your saying "fifteen pounds quid"

and I'm almost certain squid weight more than fifteen pounds.

Are you sure about that? Cause I remember reading his contract expires this summer making the below post more valid.. As that is the date his contract is due to expire..

Thiago has a 10m Euro release clause until June 30th.

You mean weigh.
