Still curious as to what Graeme Bailey was talking about...22 hours after he said in the next 48

So they are working on a story that they arent allowed to break. Will only talk about it when its out in the public.

err.. ok

He said he expects them to break it in the next 48 hours (yesterday), if someone beats them to it then he will say so. I get the feeling it will all come to nothing (as he warned could happen when he first tweeted about it to be fair).

Also said it's nothing to do with United. Can't even think what it might be to be honest, maybe a huge transfer between 2 other top clubs in England?

Macari on Thiago: "This is the BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE. Has he even played for Barcelona?" MUTV providing expert analysis there again.

I hope Macari is having a laugh. United are paying him to come out with shit like that?

MUTV is so parochial that it's more suited to be a station for City fans.

To many ex players, lazy journalists and old pundits who knows close to nothing about today's football. This is one of the reasons why I don't subscribe to MUTV. Thank God for the cafe.

I wouldn't even say if he did sign, he would be their best player by a mile... Cazorla is equally as good, but Hig doesn't disturb the Arsene changing rooms, could be a strong move.

What would you expect to pay for him? Carroll just went for £15.5million + 2 million in add-ons. I don't think Higuain at 22 is the one to question.

Higuain would be an excellent signing for Arsenal, he will easily be worth £22m IMO. Front six of Wilshere, Arteta, Cazorla, Walcott, Podolski and Higuain, Arsenal could actually be useful once again after almost a decade.
Seems like all five top clubs + Liverpool are strengthening significantly, we are on the verge of signing a CM added to an already extremely good squad, City will surely buy a striker, have already added Fernandinho and Isco could be on his way, Chelsea have a few very good players coming back + Jose and Liverpool seem to spend their money wisely as well. Interesting times ahead this season... if Levy waits too long he could be in for a bad surprise IMO.

Chuffed. I have to confess to not watching a lot of Madrid, but I fully imagine Wenger knows what he's doing for £22m.

He is a player of the ilk of Owen, Inzaghi or Hernandez. He is a pure goalscorer. His lack of all round game turns a fair few off him. He is not a superstar type player which is why Madrid find him to be surplus to requirements.

There will be the usual questions about adaptability but I would definitely say that he is a top 4 player in a top league, one who is easily a better goal scorer than any player that Arsenal currently have. I would see this as a positive signing for you, an improvement to your first X1.

I guess not.

Usually Madrid rejects are available at a discount price, so I thought may be £15m-£17m would suffice.

Can understand your reason for thought, but as much as he is a reject of Madrid, it was a fine line always between him and Benz, he isn't a poor player by any means, in fact I would welcome him here if we weren't overly stocked.

Higuain will be a perfect striker for Arsenal IMO.

He thrives on those little slipped through balls into the channels, something Cazorla / Wilshere etc are very good at.

He is a quick thinking striker that does not need many touches to score, and his movement in the box is very decent.

Personally he is a better fit to Arsenal that Giroud, but of course he can always add a different option.

Man utd PO, our only official twitter has a link to paper stories and mentions our links to thiago. Isn't this fairly unusual from the press office? I've never seen them talk about rumours before. .. although I want following them last year

They have always done this on manutd.com for that last number of years, post the daily links to who we are linked with buying and selling. They just do it through twitter now aswell.

Nothing unusual. They are linking to manutd.com's What the papers say which has done these round ups for quite some time.

Seems like every transfer window

1) manutd.com list speculation about whoever the muppet dream is, therefore maybe it's true! Even though they are just giving a newspaper roundup.
2) SkyBet etc have dropped the odds on whoever the muppet dream moving to United, so therefore maybe it's true! Even though they are just fishing for muppets.

I get excited when the transfer twitter thread last had activity "a few seconds ago".
