I still haven't unfollowed him, but I think it'll happen soon. Not so much because he tweets a lot, but because he seems to arrogant. And it's quite annoying.

Regarding Young, I'm sure United could have signed him for less had we decided to wait during the summer of 2011 and push Villa to the stage they became desperate to sell. But I guess a few millions were considered a decent price to pay for doing things quickly, getting a player before pre season, keeping good relationships with the club and maybe avoiding the possibility of someone else snatching the player.

While Young isn't world class, we've only seen glimpses of the best of him. Had he done for us as well as he can, there wouldn't be much discussion about the fee.

I'm going to be douche again, and ask if all this winger talk about Nani and Young can be moved to United on the wings thread.

Last time I asked if we could get back on track, we had an amazing day of rumours from decent sources :D

Once again, sorry I'm being a twat about all this as I know I have no power around these parts. But seeing this thread bumped to just see comments that have been repeated over and over again in the thread mentioned - it's a tear-jerker.

He has very good contacts, especially at Barcelona. He reports a lot of different things though, some materialise, some don't.

Well said. I'd also add that he's a writer more than a football pundit, his knowledge of the game is no better than the average Caf member - like Sid Lowe, IMO

Graham had better access to the club during Pep's time. I get the impression Rosell has walled off the club from a lot of journalists not unlike the way Obama went after leaks - without breaking the law, of course

This isn't from Twitter or anything but a friend of mine who live in Florence said that there have been rumours of Moyes wanting to bring back Ljajic to OT from the Viola. If true, he'd be a fantastic signing for us.

Young Kaka... Didn't think he'd want to come back here after the original fiasco.

I'd love us to sign Llajic. Shame he didn't come here when he was 18.

I wonder how the player himself would react to that. United would be a step up for him but the club didn't handle his transfer/non-transfer with much elegance so he's probably not itching to come back.

Tancredi is at it again, not enjoyable reading for us this time:

"Thiago Alcantara's father, fmr WC94 champion Mazinho, gave his ok to allow negotiations with Real Madrid, and meetings have already started"

feck off Real. They've spoiled our fun enough down the years with Ozil and Benzema for starters, they can let us have this one.

Hopefully he fears crossing the Barca/Madrid line enough to choose us instead.

Lets assume Madrid get Isco, which will push Modric back to CM, which I think is his natural position. So that will leave Alonso, Modric, Khedira (for now at least). So Madrid is definitely an option. They might need a CM this summer. So it might be Modric and Thiago with Alonso and Khedira.

Damn them! How is it that their CM is so meagre, after constantly spending so much money? It ought to be our turn, and yet somehow there's a situation where Thiago could potentially go there and only be competing with Khedira.

That said, if they do buy Isco I think we could still comfortably offer Thiago a more prominent role and more playing time. Alonso and Modric is a more difficult CM partnership to break up than Carrick and Cleverley.

How about we assume Isco goes to City since he seems so eager to follow Pelegrini, there's genuine interest reported and City could use him and have more than enough cash to sign him.
Meaning Real need a midfielder even more than in the less likely (for me) scenario you described.

#MUFC reopen #Bale talks http://bit.ly/15qYf08

Link doesn't even work.

Twitter knob said:
According to sources that MUFC have reopen talks with Spurs regarding Bale and have asked for the fee to come down as spurs asking price is way too high at this moment. Bale himself has told spurs himself he ready to commit to one more year but the offer could be too good to turn down as MUFC are offering first team players as part of the deal.

Tosh.
