In other news, #MoyesOut has been getting a good bit of hits.

More about the buyout clause -
Thiago has played 58.5% of barcelona's matches, he needs to play 60% for the buyout clause to be €90m but he mite not play next game so €18m

Is it 60% for a buyout clause to become active, or what?

Yes and he's not playing Barca's final game as he's joining up with the U-21's. It's on

Is there any proper source for that because it sounds like the biggest load of bollocks I've ever heard regarding a transfer. He plays 1.5% more of Barcelona's matches and magically his price goes from €18 million to €90 million.

I can't open the link. 60% of total minutes Barca have played?

Yeah. Here is what it says:

The strange case of Thiago Alcántara and his future

Thiago Alcántara is an ambitious young man. He is seeing as the replacement to Xavi even more than Cesc (Fàbregas is a different player, more of a forward). About a year and a half ago he admitted that his dream was not so much to succeed at Barcelona, but to succeed. He doesn’t seem to be hypnotized by the aura of the Camp Nou, but of course he finds it a great place to fulfil his ambition. But that is if he plays enough.

His buy out clause has been reduced to 18 million euros from 90 million because he has not played 60% of the minutes this season (only 47%) and he is a target for both Manchester United and Real Madrid. A TARGET (it doesn’t mean he will go there for sure, before some of you start rephrasing things as it happens often). HE IS ONLY A TARGET (yeap, I think it is clear now).

First thing to say about that is that the lack of attention to detail of the technical staff for obvious reasons (absence of Tito) has meant that this situation has occurred. Jordi Roura said that coaches are not to know about contract of players. Really? I would say that is part of their job and he should have been playing more often in league games where he would have added (many this season) so the club doesn’t find itself in this situation.

Secondly. Real Madrid is trying to convince him to move as part of the election campaign that Florentino Perez is preparing (even though he might be the only candidate). Manchester United want him too. So do Arsenal. What is his representatives (his dad mostly) are saying? That there is nothing to worry, that he will stay. I say, keep an eye on it, it will be one of the stories of the summer. IT DOESN’T MEAN HE WILL SURELY MOVE, but it means that he is going to monitor the situation and might try to get either a new contract with Barcelona, an improvement of his status at the team or a way out. THAT IS THREE POSSIBILITIES. It is early to see how this will pan out.

And apparently Rafa is the new manager of Napoli ( from the same account)

Not sure when the news about Rafa getting the job officially came out - but did this guy call it before hand? I do need reassurances that I'm not putting my hopes on a fool.

Balague says the 60% is minute related and not match related.

Having the clause being related to minutes surely makes more sense than the clause being to do with playing in matches, otherwise Barcelona could just put him on for the last minute or two of most matches.

Read this in a Barca forum. He had to play 60% of the games when he was available for at-least 60 minutes in order for the clause to become void. Which means that regardless if he plays or not the next game, he can go to another club for 18m.

Balague seems very cautious on this one when he was in full on muppet mode when he suggested we paid a downpayment on Falcao a few weeks ago.

Balague is just a spanish football journalist. He has no links to Barca nor any inside knowledge on any La Liga he just reads the Marca and reports back to sky sports

For example:
Falcao to United
Torres to United
Countless others..

What's your point?

Its odd that he's sitting on the fence with this one, but its probably because he got the Falcao one so wrong. He probably knows nothing more than us. I think he dresses up his opinions as fact a lot of the time.

Fair enough.Maybe he's acting coy because he doesn't want to look like a tit, or maybe it's because he's been to told to keep it quiet. It's option 3 though, he doesn't know anything.

Transfer Updates ‏@lnside_News 53m
#Reminder: Juventus officials will be in Manchester today to discuss a deal for Luis Nani. Manchester United expecting £15M for the winger.

Btw it looks like this guy has deleted all of his tweets from yesterday regarding Thiago and the rest of the players linked with United.

My sources tell yesterday's meeting between Juventus officials & Man Utd went well. There's a possibility of fee being agreed for Nani #MUFC

Lets hope this is as much bollocks as all the rest of the bollocks.

He has one year left on his contract right? £15million sounds about right if that's the case. If RVP goes for £24million on his last year, then that figure sounds right.

I say we bump it up to 20 million or no deal. If we're going to lose a player, we might as well scrape the most we can out of the deal.

How much did we pay for Young with a year on his contract?

First of all I want him to stay, 2nd if he has to go £20M should be the starting point for negotiations.

We were mugged over Young in fairness. Probably not the best comparison. And Young was off the back of a good season while Nani has been virtually non existent so we don't have a very strong case to demand more.

I'm hoping Moyes wants him to stay and sorts this out as he is worth far more to us than the pittance we're likely to get for selling him.

Imagine he does stay and we actually get alcantara/strootman/a new CM.

----Carrick----Other CM--
Zaha------Kagawa-------Nani
---------Van Persie-----------
