He'd only come here if the team he wants to be at don't want him anymore. We shouldn't be anyone's second choice, we want players that'd give anything to play here.

All true but if Barca dont want him anymore and he has to leave, we'd be crazy not to be in for him if the price is right. Fantastic player and one who'd be destined to shine wherever he goes.

Except for Barcelona

Fabregas would be a dream

Indeed. He's unique in that he has exceptional technical ability, loads of English league experience and is still very young. Cant think of many other midfielders who have all that. There is very little that could go wrong there, as opposed to someone who has no English league experience.

feck me, if we snaffle Fabregas, what a signing that would be. Don't see it happening myself. In fact, we'd probably be more likely to sign Alex Song than Fabregas, and there's been no suggestions whatsoever that we're even looking at Song.

I'd rather Thiago. So would Barcelona though, I reckon, if it were a straight choice.

Yep, everyone wondered even when he went as to how he'd fit in there. All the talk of him replacing Xavi has always been weird for me, two completely different players.

exactly. tough to find a midfielder with all these criterias. for me, even at 40mil, he'd be great value for money.

yeah but you wear them in the bath too so it's hardly that grand a statement.

Well if you play him as a centre-forward you can't be suprised.

How about anywhere in the midfield as well? He's been moved all around the pitch, I've seen 2 occasions where he looks good for us. Once playing as a false 9 (Which he will never do really since Messi plays there) and as part of the 3-4-3 for about 45 minutes in his first season after returning.

His game is more suited to the Premiership and you'd be hard pressed to find a better midfielder to play that CAM role for you guys and comes with the experience and success in the EPL to trump, honestly, any other possible signing

I don't see him leaving but I'd love for it to be true. Would he go to United rather than Arsenal though? Not sure

It's a hard one to call really.

I doubt Fabregas would want to join any club in England that isn't Arsenal.

But at the same time, surely he wants to win trophies.

If he came, hypothetically of course, would people prefer to play him next to Carrick, and have Kagawa moved to the hole and bring in a left winger, or would you rather play Fabregas in the hole, Kagawa on the left and bring in a defensive minded midfielder?
Both would be fantastic options I feel.

I wish you were negotiating for Barca with us. :D

I'd bash my member down to a stub if Fabregas rumour was true...

I'd play him next to Carrick with Kagawa or Rooney in the hole, we've needed a top class CM partner for Carrick for a long time now so to finally buy one and then play him in a different role would be frustrating.

Ian Abrahams @BroadcastMoose
Bit of transfer gossip (from MY sources) Cesc Fabregas is going to leave Barcelona this summer and move to Manchester United

fecking talkSPORT giving me an erection.

Bloody hell, gotta love these rumours! Ain't happening but it would be awesome.. imagine Piers Morgan's reaction :D Maybe RvP will have a word..

... i'd love it if Moyes solves the midfield problem, everyone who doubted his arrival would be heralding him as the Moyesiah. Lets hope he has a good eye for midfielders.

I'd prefer a Bayern reject TBH. They are all the rage this season.

I suppose the fee would be worth it for the reactions of Alastair, Piers Morgan and Pete alone.

If we signed him we'd have to change Anderson's song which is annoying. I like that song.

Rumours that Borussia Dortmund have agreed deals for Chelsea's Kevin de Bruyne and Ajax' Christian Eriksen. The club and players still need to agree terms though.

Arteta, Cahill, Felliani :)

Eriksen seems a ideal Dortmund type player. Will that be a direct replacement (position) for Gotze?

It's a perfect match, he's got the technical ability, the quickness, the work rate. As a Dane I really hope he goes there.

Next to Carrick. His range of passing and string-pulling intelligence from deep is one of the many strings to his bow which Barca have failed to utilise. He always looked his best there for Arsenal.

Porto striker Jackson Martinez as well as Villa's Benteke also transfer targets for Dortmund. Sporting director Zorc watched both Benteke and Martinez at the weekend.
