Daniel Agger's agent quoted as saying Agger isn't injured and says his omission from #LFC squad is down to the manager and club. Interesting

Most probably being wrapped in cotton wool or something. Their reserve side could win the qualifier.

Breaking: @SeriusXMSoccer claiming Robin van Persie has signed for Juventus. #mufc #mcfc

This SeriusXMSoccer page doesn't even open though.

It's SiriusXMSoccer actually.

How so? I'd have liked to see him here as well, but it's certainly not a terrible move. Juve is a great team.

Shame for us though (if true)

A great team in a very poor (and disgraced) league.

Isn't that just based on what an agent wrote? Where he claimed that he thought RVP had agreed terms with Juve a long time ago

The best part about that agent's comments were "This is just my opinion though"

In other words he has no idea and is just making up possibilities

Bored of Lucas saga now, we don't need another winger buy Javi Martinez, very versatile, young and physical presence.

Would love RVP but won't happen. We definitely need another Top class goalscoring forward

@DuckerTheTimes: In video #MUFC COO M. Bolingbroke says they're anticipating a £40m "net expenditure" this summer but that could mean ... CONTD

@DuckerTheTimes: another £40m could still be spent as £15m downpayments on Kagawa and Powell are on course to be offset through sales, loan fees&compensation

@DuckerTheTimes: especially if Berbatov - who QPR want - goes and brings in another £5m ish. Hope all that made sense #MUFC

Yes been reading about that now. I think we can expect one more signing. Don't see us getting more than that.

I posted the link to the presentation video in the finance thread in the United forum - that segment is pretty rushed; they talk up the position of the club in regard to the FFPR, but when talking about past investment in the team, they decide to take a 15 year average (which includes Rio, Veron and Rooney) rather than just the Glazer era.

I wouldn't put much faith in their estimated spend figure tbh.

SkySport24 claim #Inter offer of €27m+add-ons (total 32m) for Lucas Moura has been accepted by S.Paulo, but no source here confirms it. #MUFC

I'm sure that's less than our bid 10 days or so ago...

Makes no sense unless United never submitted a bid that big.

No sources to confirm?

I thought our bid was between £29-30 million? Surely they wouldn't accept a far smaller offer?

Stranger things happened .... Anyone remembers Henry's transfer from Monaco to Juventus? Arsenal's bid was significantly higher but for some strange reason monaco preferred juventus offer.

Some weeks ago Moratti (inter president) also claimed that he is 'a friend' of lucas ' dad.

Probably been a bribe/bung offered somewhere (Lucas' father, or to the agent, perhaps). How predictable.

United always do business in installments, if Inter offered cash upfront instead that might have been too tempting to resist for Sao Paulo especially with Lucas failing to up his value at the Olympics.

If there's another potential £40M to spend then that means Lucas or RVP not both. I'd prefer Lucas as I think we can develop him into something special, where as RVP could get crocked as he often does and on top of that I want to see Rooney and Kagawa through the middle.

Of course we could skip both and buy a Midfielder that we actually need......Nah!

If there is a potential 30m, then match Martinez release clause, and we would still have 8-9m left. Much rather go for a top talent in midfielder, who is also versatile than buy players on positions we don't really need.

if that's accepted, we should match it.

Didn't the club also say we'd have a £25m net spend every year once upon a time? Don't think that has happened

Who tweeted that, Enrique?
