Trump/Russia/SDNY investigation

Somebody’s arse is going to be twitching.

 That could be big.
Or it could just be big for Avenatti, but not for the Russia probe.

I suppose in terms of establishing a credible pattern of behaviour then one feeds the other.

Especially when it pertains to how Trump might get himself into a compromising position and how he'd deal with it after the fact. E.g. Russian kompromat and how it influenced him to run for the Presidency and what he's tried to do as President since.

Looks like the next stage is “phony and fake news collusion that might have happened isn’t even that big a deal”.

Wow, he did indeed get his ass kicked.

It'll be a shame if he gets done in over things like this but surely you've gotta be clever enough to make sure your emails and other communications go through the right firm and that everything is above board?

The bankruptcy of the other firm doesn't look good and he reads like someone who's let the fame get to his head, which is not what we want when we need someone to hurt Trump.

That article has got a similar slant to what Fox News were accused of by the MSNBC host. It's a lot of quotes from Trump's attorney's throwing accusations at Avenatti which is bound to paint an image of a tough day in court.

In the end, Judge Wood basically said to Avenatti, you're welcome to join this case but I don't think it would be in your interest as you will have to make fewer public appearances and tone down your media image which I believe goes against what you have judged to be in the best interests of your client, Daniels.

Avenatti obviously agreed with her as he withdrew his request.

Is anyone really surprised that Avenatti is less than kosher? The guy has sleazeball written all over him.

He's fighting Trump so go Michael, but let's not pretend he's a good guy with the goal of justice for the world in mind. He's there for his day in the spotlight, that's all.

Fair enough.

Who is prosecuting Cohen then if Avenatti isn't? I'm confused as to which case this is now and what it's about.

Avenatti is representing Daniels vs Trump, Cohen was Trump's attorney, I'm not sure if he's a defendant in that case now too.

Southern District of New York are representing the United States of America vs Cohen.

Don't think anyone paints him as a saint.

He said it. On NBC. To the world. Are we still being told by trump supporters not to take him literally but seriously or literally but not seriously?
I'm confused so it's no wonder you have to be a dumb cnut to support this idiot.

The longer this stays solely in the court of public opinion, the better his lies - no matter how blatant - will work.

Cute the debates on whether this is a 'lie' or a 'falsehood' or a 'mistake' blah blah blah.

Pardoning a guy convicted of making illegal campaign contributions, Trump is ridiculously transparent

No one cares about Avenatti in all of this. He's simply doing whatever he needs to advance his case. Trump would give up his left testicle to have someone of his quality on his side.

Pardoning Libbey, D'Souza...both found guilty of campaign crimes.

Not exactly 3d chess to see the new strategy on Cohen, Manafort etc.

The GOP really is something.

87% of Republicans think Trump is doing a good job.
People like Boehner played a crucial role in handing the party over to Trump.
They were watching with glee when the Birther issue was on. They were actively doubting Obama's Christianity.
You can't whip up a frenzy of extremism when in opposition and expect it to disappear because you've entered government.

Agree, but he’s trying to save face for the “normal” GOP.
