I watched five episodes in a row today, I think it's fantastic so far.
Reported.I watched five episodes in a row today, I think it's fantastic so far.
You reckon? The shooting scene made zero sense. Hank says he's not a killer and moments later walks into another cop's home and almost commits a double homicide without blinking an eyeGood ending. Not sure about the rest of it.
A kinda okay-ish episode, I guess? Not sure how I feel about the ending. Jodie Foster was the best thing about it, as usual.
Looks like the finale is going to mirror the first season's. It'll be interesting to see how they close everything out; an extended runtime seems like a given.
Interesting credits song choice, too, in the form of a Generic Movie Trailer Save Tonight cover:
They established that he is a big loser who has nothing going on for himself so I can see why he'd be tempted. Also I wouldn't say he did it "without blinking an eye", he was botching the whole thing quite badly. You reckon? The shooting scene made zero sense. Hank says he's not a killer and moments later walks into another cop's home and almost commits a double homicide without blinking an eye
Felt much more understated and not as in-your-face this week. I'm enjoying the score much more but it's been underutilised. Good catch on the lyrics. The music (titles apart) was much better this episode. I'd say the dark cover of Save Tonight wasn't an accident and the lyrics will point to some event in the next episode. Probably not good for a main character.
The finale is clocking in at 80 minutes.‘True Detective: Night Country’ Edges Season 1 To Become Series’ Most Watched Installment
Four episodes into its six-episode run, True Detective: Night Country has become the most watched season of the crime anthology series with 12.7 million cross-platform viewers, surpassing the 11.9 million viewer average for the original True Detective installment.
A lot has changed since True Detective starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson ran in 2014, breaking records as the most watched freshman season of an HBO series since Six Feet Under.
The finale is clocking in at 80 minutes.
Season 1 - Incredible. 10/10.
Season 2 - Didn't watch.
Season 3 - Pretty good. 7/10.
Just finished Ep 3 of S4. This is a baaaad TV show. Feck me.
Nothing has happened. None of the characters have any redeemable qualities. Danvers is unbearable and the woman playing Navarro can't act.
I'll persist because I've committed now but for the love of God how did this season reach the point of being allowed to exist.
Sunday evening in the US, 2am Monday on Sky Atlantic.Very good. Do these come out on a Sunday?
Hmm..they still got that one eyed icebear potential! The finale is going be a disaster. I can't even imagine a satisfying ending. Maybe if they'd say feck it and do some shark tornado explosion then it might be at least memorable some way
Rustin Cohle will rock up and put one right between the eyes of our villain, then he'll look to his right and see his dad doing that weird ice dance. Then he'll start dancing too. Then everyone starts dancing to a choreographed number with jazz hands and a bit of tap. Then Jodie foster wakes up and it's the night before the sun stops coming up. None of it happened. The finale is going be a disaster. I can't even imagine a satisfying ending. Maybe if they'd say feck it and do some shark tornado explosion then it might be at least memorable some way
Yeah that seemed completely insane to me.Can we also appreciate how ridiculous it is for the big bad mining boss to dangle the carrot of a very minor promotion for the deputy, and that’s all he needed as motivation to execute a drug addict in front of his boss and then force his own son to execute him.
It was ridiculous. Only way I could somehow twist it in my mind to make „sense“ was that I thought he‘d committ suicide next to his funny bunny in the bed after his false fiancé didn‘t show up (plot twist: she was coming with the next plane) so didn‘t care about anything anymore. Still doesn‘t make much sense though. Can we also appreciate how ridiculous it is for the big bad mining boss to dangle thecarrot of a very minor promotion for the deputy, and that’s all he needed as motivation to execute a drug addict in front of his boss and then force his own son to execute him.
I feel like I deserve a prize for making it to the end of the season.
Not a terrible ending, but failing to really address the meaning of the symbol and any connection to season 1 made it just ok rather than a satisfying closure.
It's worse than season 2, clearly the weakest seasonHad a free morning so I decided to watch the finale.
it’s bad. Like, really bad. Maybe worse than season two bad.
can’t believe they used the “time is a flat circle” line
The real mystery is how did the Tuttles organize a conspiracy to get this season such high reviews?
So you're telling me that the Guardian were fibbing when they said that this is better than season one because it's got fewer men and more women and inuits and that?
It got good reviews for ticking boxes no doubt, not because the critics actually watched the show.
That's a pretty disingenuous take of a review that was clearly of the opening episode.
It's fine for someone to have not enjoyed something previously because of its 'Acting-with-a-capital-A and Directing-with-a-capital-D' style. It's also fine for someone to not be into overwhelmingly male-dominated stories.
It's just their opinion, which isn't wrong, it's just not the same as yours - and in this case mine too.
But it shouldn't haunt you for weeks.
