Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

Well no, it's definitely happening.

The photos are photoshopped but the deal is already done and real.

Thanks guys....
Let's hope it's just the muppet in me that is disappointed in that, i have never seen him tbh. Still baffles me that this deal goes through the way its structured and with the relatively "small" premium Liverpool are paying.

Alternative 1: They reject to sell him this season, as they have been adamant about all summer. Next summer he has a release clause of 48 mill. Hence the worst thing to happen to RBL is that he is a 1 season wonder, and they don't sell him next summer. If that is what they're afraid of, they should have accepted one of the previous offers from 'pool for a transfer this summer. If instead he plays as good this season as last, they lose him for 48 mill next summer. That would mean they lose the "premium" that 'pool now pay, nothing less. What they are left with instead is a fairly expensive loan until next summer, as they could have sold him for quite a bit more than 48+3 mill this summer. Of course, the details of the previous offers were unclear i guess, there might have been add-ons in there which affect the true value of the bid.

Alternative 2: They sell him this summer for direct transfer for the rumoured 65m+ mill. Worst case is he becomes a world beater and they should have demanded more. They would still get more than the 48 mill release clause for next summer(presuming this bid guarantees more than the 48mill of next summer). Also, i'm sure 'pool would be happy to pay a bit less and include a sell on % clause.

No. Only reason why he is mentioned as "highly talented" is because of his father, you know who he is. Not saying Nikola can't become a good player, maybe it will be good for him to leave comfort of his fathers protection, and become a man far away from him, before he becomes (hopefully, for him and us) a good player. And let's not forget his older sister, 2 times Olympic medalist in High Jump. You know how our press likes to suck up to famous and important people. And how, if you repeat something many times, it becomes truth.

See...
Come on, vlasic is a beast. He was playing with evertons defence. Quick, strong, plays with two feet...

What does he really offer? I don't see blistering pace, I don't see fantastic dribbling, no serious strength? I don't get why he would be important to us.
It's his close control and vision that is very impressive about him. Will be a fantastic attacking midfielder in years to come.

Set pieces are his strength. Many of his assists are from freekicks or corners. If he was here, I doubt he'd be on set piece duty though.

Yes, because they couldn't care less. And it is transfer window, don't forget. I said before, he has his moments, but Wellbeck has those too. Perisic plays with two feet, and he is not very respected here. And he is space shuttle for Nikola.
Having said that, I hope that boy makes it, being Croat, and will be happy to eat my own words one day.

Willian isn't as good as he was in Mourinho's last title winning season imo. At this team he was really a very good out and out winger, but whenever I watch him playing with Chelsea now he never succeeds in convincing me.

The same was said about Matic

Your feeling won't translate into reality when there is absolutely zero evidence they've learned from last year. They conceded 3 against Watford, Palace could have certainly got a point at Anfield. Beating a shambolic Arsenal team proves absolutely nothing, we know they're good against the better sides.

Keita, if he continues his form, would have far bigger clubs after him than Liverpool. If you're him, why don't you wait and see what the next year holds? Seems bizarre to commit to a long term team a year ahead of time.

Or maybe he has a subpar year and no big club goes after him. Plus it's delusional to say that Liverpool aren't a team on the rise. They play great football, have a manager who raises his players level and has won trophies before with a smaller budget than what he has now. Idk how signing for a Bayern for example where he might not play as much is a better idea.

Willian would be a great signing. But it won't happen. He's Chelsea's best player at the min.

I get the feeling it's going to be a busy week of transfers.

Cool. Not really what we need though. Don't think we should care where he goes if your analysis is true.

Pretty terrible trio to be honest.

Yeah it's really gearing up. Never get why clubs leave it so late.
No me either. It's like some clubs like to build the excitement for their fans. Would rather just get our business done too be fair and let everybody else fight it out.

For someone with a reputation for getting in with bad crowds, he'd be moving to a club in Guadalajara, practically next door to Sinaloa Cartel territory. Maybe I had Morrison wrong, he does have ambition.
Guadalajara is the home of the jalisco new generation cartel which has basically usurped Sinaloa as the biggest in Mexico. I'm from Guadalajara and an atlas fan and I'm calling it now he won't last 6 months. The club has been a disaster basically it's whole existence easily the worst run club in Mexico even though it's had guys like Marquez, Borgetti, Guardado and Pardo come through the youth setup.

Haven't Arse already lost Gabriel? Seems they'd be quite thin at the back if they lose Mustafi as well.

Has chambers already left aswell or did that get cancelled. Also talks of Gibbs going the other day.

It's already the biggest transfer spend in PL history at £1.19billion.

Seems like there will be a few more blockbuster moves along with many more lower shelf moves before the transfer deadline. projections are for £1.4bn - 1.5bn spend by EPL clubs this window

Chambers will stay, he was injured. Gibbs playes no role in our squad.

Kolasinac/Monreal--Monreal/Holding-Koscielny/Merte-Mustafi/Chambers-Bellerin/X

If Ox and Mustafi leave, we will need a new CB and a RWB. Can't see that happening.

Why is Mustafi being shopped around anyways? I thought he was possibly your best cb last season

Ask Wenger. He had a very good start and then he was okay. Nothing special but still solid.

It looks like he wasn't Wenger favourite CB last summer (Manolas?) and he was scouted with StatsDNA. But Wenger would prefer to play players like Monreal and Kolasinac than buying a new CB..

Nice...

My Mrs is an arsenal fan so I have a slight interest in them not being terrible as she's worse than me with the moods it puts her in.

Matic was good last season IMO. I didn't understood why people said he was declining. He played 35 matches and was fundamental in their team last season.

Willian is a different case and he's really not any good anymore and was reduced to the bench the whole season. Perisic was far better option than him.

The near closure of the transfer window seems half exciting when we are not participating in it. Come on Jose, stir up something!

Transfer deadline day is usually the most hyped & boring day in football, with only Sky really excited by it, for obvious reasons. Usually have all these rumors then have the highlight of some second rater going somewhere, like the great deal for WBA getting rid of Berahino. By the way what has happened to him.

He's at Stoke. Laid the goal on for Jese the other day.
