Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

If this is true it's a bit worrying actually. So if PSG get pissed at a team for whatever reason, they'll do anything to mess with that club's business? Plus they've got the money to do it as well which makes it worse. Do not like it...

If the player/agent knows that PSG arent really interested, how will that drive the price up?

I'm guessing its just the agent trying to get Barca to wrap it up quickly by dragging PSG into it.

These sorts of games are part of football. I swear Mourinho used to deliberately sign or unsettle our transfer targets in his first stint at Chelsea.

I guess, as much as this is generally pretty deplorable, Barca are still a main rival for PSG and PSG are just taking the opportunity to weaken a rival.

I hope we don't do anything to piss PSG off :nervous:

They can't do shit, really. Premier League has no release clauses. Also, to go after players that other teams want with no intention to buy just to drive up their price is a move you can only pull off a couple of times. After that you become a joke in the market that no ones takes seriously. Even if you are PSG.

If true, it seems all fun and games for everyone, until City or any other sugar daddy club does something similar to us. Then I'm sure we'd all really be laughing and loving it.

PSG got money, Barca got UEFA.

Let's see who wins.

Wondered why Barca haven't tried for other targets, such as Hazard. Now they're linked with Willian. If that is anyway realistic (which it probably isn't), I'm sure Jose would be in for him again.

If Liverpool get around £110/115m upfront for him they should sell IMO, I'd say that's about his value in the current market maybe slightly over (I would have said about £70m last year but things have gone a bit mental this summer).

Just a shame it's all happening so late and they'll struggle to get replacements in in time, I genuinely think for that reason they aren't going to sell whatever, how that pans out though we'll have to see, especially if Barca end up getting Dembele and either don't see a need for Coutinho anymore or can't afford him next summer, in which case he'll likely be very pissed off.

This is going to happen 100%. Real Madrid have been smart and are playing cool with the sugar daddies.

City would have seen all this and are going to flex their muscle next year. Expect them to buy an Italian team, a German team and a Championship team. Then buy all the promising youngsters and park them all over the place. Expect the next big thing (like Mbappe) to end up at Man City next.

Good thing the Prem has their own FFP, which I somehow doubt will be as pointless as Uefa's version

Why the hell are PSG so pissed at Barca? Just because of the Veratti stuff? They're being a bit petulant.

I'd say it was the CL match at the Nou Camp last season that sowed the seeds.

Hazard would cost 200 m euros now.

They need someone of that calibre. Not many around. They cannot watch their team slowly implode whilst they have the best player in the world and 200m in the pocket.

They can't afford to spend 200 m euros on one player, they need to use the money for mid and attack both.
