Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

Or maybe it's a ''he is bang average and a nothing player'' thing, while i rate Barkley higher. Or maybe it's a foreigner thing after all, i don't understand....
Yeah I think it is mate, try not to worry about it too much.
I'll debate the merits of having a home grown United supporting player who is at least one rung above average, in the squad rather than some proper average player that had 2 good games last season, one day in another thread. This isn't the place for it.

Sick reference, bro. Your references are outta control, everyone knows that.

I hope Barca don't pay 150m for Coutinho. I rather see Liverpool keep Coutinho than let them have 150m to spend.

£150m to spend with a couple of weeks to go = desperate times! I definitely want to see it.

It is all set up for another Andy Carroll special.

Interesting 2 right backs gone, one on loan to palace one sold to Guillermo...

Making way for Aurier perhaps?
I don't think it means much. Varela has never really been our player and TFM leaving opens up like 5-6 games at RB, which could easily be covered by our current players.

Possibly though Varela was never in the plans so not sure he can even be put into the equation.

Mourinho's mention yesterday that Lindelof can play right back makes me think the left side is more of a priority and probably rightly so.

With our CD injury record I don't think we have much to spare to cover the RB should the worst happen and we loose a RB :(

We have 4 CB's plus Blind and maybe Tuwnzebe who stays also at cb.

And then Rojo will come back mid season I guess.

Not sure how much more cover could you want. All our 4 CB's have played Rb at some point.

Hmm, doesn't sound like a very strong position

Depends. Does Coutinho consider not playing football for the next five years a desirable option, which basically means the end of his career. And while his fixed salary is probably very nice, he´d still probably lose a few millions in incentive-based salary. I´m also not sure Klopp is the best coach to cross. He can be your best friend, but when you betray him, he can also become your worst enemy. Look at Sakho.

Spurs are amazing at misspending the little money they have.

Who the Hell looks at that side and thinks, "You know what we need, don't you? A really expensive young centre-half!"
Yes, if there is one example of a team mismanaging their finances it is Tottenham. Maybe they are preparing for an exit before it happens. Maybe they think the deal is/will be value down the road. If they sell one of their CBs to City for 80M next summer, you think Ajax will sell for 25-30?

Alderweireld hasn't signed an extension, and when he's been out Spurs are a different team - the dip in form that ruined the group stages of the CL last year and saw a run of draws that cost Spurs the title were directly related to Alderweireld's injury absence. Vertonghen is also already 30 and somewhat injury prone. Spurs need one more top quality CB. It was supposed to be Cameron Carter-Vickers coming through the youth system, but his development seems to have stalled. Wimmer hasn't proven himself to be anything but mid-table PL level as well, so Pochettino is back looking for that 3rd top class CB and long term Vertonghen/Alderweireld replacement.

Given Toby's contract situation, they might need a new cb.

This has legs, Real are looking for a star to sign to keep the fans from waving their white hankys.

Wasn't this part of the cause of the meldown they had the last time they were champions? He wanted out and they wouldn't sell. His strop dragged the usual suspects with him and mid table mediocrity ensude.

Im not sure if he will go this window, maninly down to time left in the to replace him. So he may not be as vociferous as Couts about playing in spain. For now!

Can i just add, it couldn't happen to a nicer club, may there be manys a fun day with azzard doing a cost "I go china"
