Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

Kane earns £130k with bonuses, and Lloris is not far behind. The potential earnings gap exists, but not to the degree you suggest.

Because nearly double the wage isn't massive.

If either of them were at a big club (still think Spurs will get there) they'd be the face of the EPL.

50% is not massive? If a company, a better more prestigious company offered me a 50% pay rise I'd be on my fecking bike. No doubt about it.

Kane could easily double those wages by moving. And he will down the road. Just a matter of time.

So, after already failing to land one of Spurs' squad players (Dier) this summer, the solution will be to go for one of their first team? Hmm.
When did Eric Dier become a squad player? He has played in all but 3 league games in the last 2 seasons... Almost all have been starts too.

Hmm.

Yeah, squad player might be overdoing it but he's played in a variety of positions, and become something of a utility player, hence his rumoured desire to nail down a midfield role at OT. Rose, on the other hand, is their nailed-on, specialist starter at left back and surely even less gettable?

Just checked his wiki. In his last 4 seasons, he has played 22,28,24,18 premier league games for Spurs.

Injuries might be a reason for some of his time out.. but Spurs havent exactly struggled without him. He missed more than half of last season and they were fine.
They might want to cash in on him before someone like Dier.

Let me try and get this right.

We spend almost the whole summer chasing Dier who, reportedly, is keen on joining United but fail to get him. Then a few days to the end of the transfer window, we start chasing Rose who is in the same Spurs team that seems to hinge its success next season on keeping its team intact? Odd. Unless of course, there is every indication that Spurs is eager to sell him and he is willing to join United.

Wouldn't exactly mind a Rise / Shaw deep though.

Spurs got £54m for a Right back who wanted to leave and that they had good tested cover for, what do you think they'd want for a superior left back who's happy to stay?

0 because he is happy to stay.

Why aren't we signing all the players who are good that other clubs sign?!
Yeah that's exactly the same. We needed a left back and a good young left back was available on the cheap? Not sure why you've got a stick up your ass.

who did they sale to have net spend at 20 mil only?
They somehow managed to get about £12m from 'Boro for Darren Randolph and Ashley Fletcher. The rest came from Nordveit back to the Bundesliga, I believe.

Taking the piss of Delaneys United are interested in Rose/an LWB tweet.

The Twitter should have an Edit button refers to if it had then an actual ''journalist'' wouldn't be tweeting with shocking grammatical errors.

It is pronounced ell-double-ewe-bee so is fine to use 'an'. I'm probably wrong but that is how I was taught in English GCSE - if the acronym begins with a consonant whose sound begins with a vowel, use 'an'.

Can people stop asking for reporters to be blacklisted?

The modmin team are constantly moderating this thread and will decide on it. Its becoming a trend that after every other tweet of Delaney/Malachians is posted, people ask for blacklisting them. It's not gonna happen.

An is used if the word when vocalised starts with a vowel. Therefore LWB should be an, hotel should not, unless you drop your h's conpletely.

Right......I didn't do GCSE's in English and pretty sure my English teachers would have put a giant red cross through me writing ''an LWB''. Not sure they would have been too impressed if I was using acronyms either.

When I see 'LWB', I immediately think 'left wing-back', and not 'LWB'. When I see 'WTF', I think 'What the feck?' but when I see 'LOL', I think 'LOL'.

Acronyms/initialisms are weird.
