Apparently we're just about to announce that we've sold Chalobah to Watford. For only £5m.

My favorite of our youth players and the one I thought had the best shot of breaking through. Conte must not fancy him enough. :(
You never use your youth players so him being sold shouldnt be a surprise.

Wow didn't expect that.

Got to give credit to Juventus. No one is too important to sell and they recruit really well to keep a consistently strong squad.

I remember Chalobah from 4/5 years ago, or at least it feels like that, and he looked highly rated. But with no game time (real, not loaned) you stand still, and we all know standing still is going backwards. Hopefully we give Solanke 10-15 full games (mostly cups) to fully realise his potential.

Not really. No chance or very little chance.

Not as a main system, But against 343 systems or when one needs more defensive security from the wings in a proactive fashion. Wont be a bad idea against the likes of Real madrid who's main goal threat come from wide areas and crosses.

Before anyone moans about Utd not being in for Bonucci, it's widely reported that he and his family were desperate to stay in Italy.

Why on earth are Juventus selling Bonucci to Milan for such a small fee? He is the "best in the world" and he is only 30 years old - they could have offered him to everyone and gotten 60M tomorrow, it makes no sense. Sure there could be some kind of gentlemen's agreement going on, but clubs don't give away free money do they? Baffling. Furthermore, why does Bonucci want to leave the only good team in the country for AC Milan, a team that will need years to re-establish themselves in the Champions League let alone the Serie A?

This would be like Real Madrid selling Sergio Ramos to Bilbao or back to Sevilla, it makes no sense whatsoever.

Something is definitely not right. That's shockingly low for a world-class defender and to a rival.
Have to agree with this.

Did he fade towards the latter end of the season or anything? Any chance that Juve saw a decline in him? So bizarre.

Good for Bonucci. Seems as if he's content with his career and wants to go to AC Milan knowing what could have been if he stayed with Juve, but he knows it'll be a different challenge with ACM. I know Milan isn't what it once was, but it's still a glamour club in Italy and he's living/working in Milan. Juve don't see AC Milan as a rival any longer.

Anddd, Bonucci will be a Juve agent tapping up Donnarumma for his eventual move to Juve. That's it.

We should immediately contact Juventus and offer them a package of Smalling & Jones for Bonucci

May be they want donnarumma and making ease for the deal to go through.

I mean, these are all average players. I would've thought José would be desperate for an upgrade there. I can't for instance imagine you lining up against Real Madrid or Bayern with Ashley Young at LB like you did last season. At least Valencia has played in those sorts of games.

The back up options aren't supposed to be world class.

Serie A economics is like the reverse of Premier League economics it seems.

In the Premier League when a club sells to another club in the league they ask for alot more than when selling to a club outside the league and it seems in Serie A they do like the reverse thing.

If Juve asked City, Chelsea, us, PSG or any other club with alot of money if they wanted to buy Bonucci for €60-€70m I think all those clubs would bite their hand off. But they rather sell him for €40m to Milan who will be challening them in the Serie A.

I really don't get it, like at all.

That's a class signing for Milan, can't understand for the life of me why Juventus agreed to sell though.

Donnarumma to Juventus can not be totally ignored in the future, We should tie de gea down to a new deal this summer so that we are in position of strenght in the future.

With Juve selling Bonucci I suppose that shuts the door on the very slim chance we had at Alex Sandro. They won't sell two of their best defenders in the same summer.
