De Gea, Romero, Valdez, Darmian, Valencia, Jones, Smalling, Rojo, Blind, Shaw, Carrick, Schweinsteiger, Herrera, Schneiderlin, Mata, Young, Fellaini, Depay, Martial and Rooney. Add to that McNair, Lingard, Pereira and Wilson. So around 24 players.
One-two attacking players and possibly a defender short IMO.
How many league goals do you expect from them. I would say 25-30 total. I would want that from one player.
Including Martial and excluding players like Goss, we have 21 outfield and possibly 4 goalkeepers if we sign no-one else

With those two and a settled De Gea, this team would have fought hard for the title and UCL.

This is bizarre, an injury to Rooney (no matter how crap he is) and we're fecked. It's madness to expect Martial to lead the line and Felliani hardly has the pace and creativity Van Gaal said we lacked. Big gamble not to bring someone else in.
Another way to look at it is that Memphis, Martial, Rooney and Wilson can play anywhere across the front three. We don't lack forward options, per se. We just lack another forward who is a central specialist.

Depends how Martial settles. If he carries his rate of improvement since becoming a starter for Monaco over to England i can't see how he doesn't score goals.
I'm excited with what he and Memphis brings to the side. It's an entire new dynamic that nobody really has the authority to predict how it will play out.
If Martial is as good as what I'm reading then thats an entire new threat we have going forward and that effects the output of his teammates.

That's true. Or a right winger whose a right wing specialist. That's I think the main thing about our attack. There's not one hazard or Costa or aguero in there. That one player who is really top drawer in his position in an attacking position.
Have to admit I would have liked us to sign a proper right winger too but I suppose we weren't going to get everything in one summer.
