Anthony Martial...who?
He is 19 years old so I wouldnt expect anything special from him for a least a year or even 2 years.
He had 31 league appearances last year and scored 8 goals. I think Wilson, who is of similar age, could achieve similar results...so I'm not sure what all the fuss is about.

If we do go for him, I hope we don't over-pay. We shouldn't be paying big money for a youth player who may disappear into nothingness.
I'd rather buy an established player who has previous form of scoring lots of goals.

And with regards to the "next Henry". Why don't we go for the "next Messi" instead?

19, pace, decent build, decent finishing & pretty technically good, the next big thing in French football. Bit early for him to be going to a club akin to United.

Thanks. Would I be right in assuming Lacazette would be further along in his development for that kind of money?

Buying anyone this late generally guarantees we overpay.

According to a YouTube scouting vid saying welcome to Chelsea they say "Martial is a jolly attacker "

I'm sold.

so Monaco went from having original Falcao to a teen prospect.
Their money really disappeared didn't it.

well, until we give them 50m euro!

We're probably overpaying just to ensure that we absolutely get him, given how little time is left. Still, we can afford it, after securing sponsorship from the likes of Uncle Jeremiah's Ole Time Weasel Snuff Inc.

does he even get into our first 11 ?

I'm really not sure if he solves any of the problems we have currently. Surely if a 19 year old was the plan why would it be left so late ?

If we spend 50m on him it won't be to stay on the bench.

Martial turns out to be the highest rated player in career mode in FIFA 15 after 2 years. Just saying

Not muppety enough. 3/10
But it is true, i have watched him in 7-10 games, he is not a final product, he is more like when we bought ronaldo at 17 or nani at 20. Dont know which side he goes, he looks good sometimes, sometimes he will frustrate,he likes to dribble but is not very great at it. He is good at it not great, again not the best finisher and may miss simple chance, but might score goal of the month type goals.
Not a signing for NOW, maybe in the future he becomes 35 million pound player, right now 25 million player just for his potential. He is a risk, If we are to pick a player from french league, it has to be Nabil fekir, he shall be king of france. I think he has already decided to stay at lyon for one more year though and he is more of a 10 than a 9. Coming back to Martial i hope if he signs he comes good, right now he is player for clubs that are level below United.

Please let this be true. He's got excellent potential!
Is that what we need right now? Pinning all our hopes on a 19 year old new to the Premier League is a big gamble.

Albeit one I hope we take because the thought of watching a season of Rooney shuffling his arse around upfront is enough to make me weep.

I'll be honest and say that I've never even heard of Martial. Is his talent as big as the proposed fee suggests?

So we've gone from not expecting to sign anyone else to being linked with an enormous bid for someone no one had even heard of until this evening?

Don't people think that has something to do with losing today?

The twatterati must be laughing into their click bait money.

so how out of rooney, mata, memphis and herrera who should get dropped.

I mean the answer is obvious but we all know rooney stays so who then ?

Id rather have the pacey Martial out on the RW in a 433 than Mata. Probably Herrera to be dropped and Mata at 10.
Wouldnt be suprised if Rooney plays 10 and Martial 9.

Highly reliable journalist on it. Not even heard of isnt true, just last Friday @Rozay created a thread on him.

Lacazette's overratedness here has reached Djibril Cisse at 19 back then on redcafe. A fast and nifty finisher, his ceiling is that of a very good player.

I'd rather go for super potential.

We could get Berahino for less money. Already proven in the premier league.
It is possible that we prefer him because we think he can become a far better player. It's not always about the here and now.

Just last Friday, like 2 days ago?

 you know what i mean. The French followers know him, and our scouts too. I bet you said the same about Darmian. I never heard of Verratti when PSG bought him for Peanuts, turns out he isnt that bad.

Your initial question was Twitter bullshit? No. But the transfer period closes soon, of course the interest will leak the next hours/tomorrow if we want to sign someone.
