You're nit picking, I meant in general. But they're clearly two very promising attacking players, who'd make a difference to our team obviously.

I wonder if they would to be honest. I wonder if they wouldn't just have their wings clipped like Di Maria did, and Mata seems to.

To be fair, after games like today, I wonder the same thing. What's the point in buying a Bale, if you're just going to make him a victim to these awful tactics.

Yeah... we are letting De Gea and Hernandez go.. lot of work for Woody to do.

we saw it in the world cup too. that phenomenal win against Spain, but for the vast majority of the games it was turgid, and hoping Robben could magic a goal.
We don't have that level of ability, Memphis might be it in 2 years, but he'll frustrate us a great deal this year

I feel like the problem is more ingrained with the way we play football. Honestly feel that we could sign Messi and Van Gaal would stifle him and have him playing like Roberto Soldado within a month.

We keep signing good players, then when they don't play well we blame them and say "we need to sign better players" then when the better players start playing badly we say "we need to sign better players". At what point do we stop blaming the players for not being good enough?

And it totally shouldn't, there is no point panic buying because of a loss.

Our targets should already be identified, the only difference it should make is adding a few more million to get deals done if that's what needs to happen.

I mean he's right in that a team's transfer policy shouldn't be swayed by just one poor performance, but we've been pretty turgid up front every time we've played this season (CL excluded).

I worry if the backroom staff can't identify and remedy our weakest areas.

of course it doesn't. we were already trying to get some big players, but they're not interested.

the bigger surprise would if he came out and said
"after that crock of old pony, I'm gonna go nuts in the market"

Expected. He's not going to show signs of desperation. Not publicly. I doubt he really is happy with no pace and creativity which is he has talked about for some time.

I think we might see a panic buy though.
Christ, he's had the whole Summer to address the pace and creativity problem. All he does is talk about it.

Van Gaal has probably identified targets. I wouldn't have thought it was his job to go and get them.

All speculation, but it's possible he's identified targets that are out of reach and we've wasted time trying to get them in. Now we're finally going down our list to the likes of Mane and naturally no club wants to sell so close to the deadline.

Must have seen Rooney's shitness before this game anyway. So I'll give him that. Our need for a winger and a striker is not a result of this game. Very well done for leaving it so late though.

If he doesn't adress those areas anymore slam face can do one though.

Who is this idiot? He is tweeting bullshit like this for last couple of days. Never heard of him before.

People need to calm down.

I know he said he's already heard something about us getting a new number 9, but this tweet doesn't come across as trying to be ITK at all. I think he's literally passing opinion on what we need to do to be competitive.

Depends on what the strategy is.

Gomis? Sakho? Mane? Lambert? Austin?

Sadly it's not just up front we're in trouble, we're still massively lacking creativity.

And a decent keeper if De Gea is off/ put in the stands.
Team created a few very good chances for Rooney today, but he wasn't at the races.
