It has been clear for some time that Hernandez should move on for the sake of his career. He is not good enough to be a starter at a top 4club and coming into the prime years of his career he should be starting games and not sitting on the bench.
Funnily enough the same article says we're NOT expecting to sign someone.

He's the one player in our youth team who I feel has it in him to be world class, he just needs that push.

While I do think we urgently need another attacker, I don't think we'd be much worse without Hernandez. Fellaini or Januzaj up front would probably do just as good a job up front.

I honestly wouldn't mind taking a punt on Pato if he can stay injury free he is a class player. Not even 26 yet either

On top of losing Van Persie and Falcao, it's fecking madness if we don't sign anyone.
We would be crazy to sell Hernandez without getting a replacement....in fact we need 2 strikers!

Someone coming from an obscure club to one of the biggest clubs in the world, I would think he believes god has smiled at him.
While I agree they are not much of a downgrade on Hernandez in terms of quality, my biggest problem with not replacing him would be our lack of pace in the front three. It's clear that we already lack pace in all of those positions (except the left when Memphis plays), and to lose the option of Hernandez who, if nothing else, can stretch a defence by running in behind, would be a big blow to that. Seems that van Gaal is already aware of this issue though, so I'd think we have something lined up.
I hope not. Massive fee, massive wages and if we're lucky, not another Falcao.
He's been ruined by injuries, hasn't been a top player for a while. Falcao mkII, except further along in his decline.
