That discust's me that we didn't even show a sniff of interest mean while Ed has his cock out thinking of Neymar...
If the Sun reported Hitler was back you'd belive that too wouldn't you?

LVG is coming across as delusional if he thinks he can win the champs lge.....not gonna happen with current squad and with Rooney.

We are more set up to win champs league than premier league. As we set up not to lose.

some guy on twitter is claiming Aymen Abdennour to United is a done deal. I wont bother to post the tweet but apparently he has sources.

He claims he's United bound for around €25M-€30M. He's left footed and ball playing. Seems like LvG type.

Is it the Barcelona based journo that said that? His tweets are protected.

Bit of an unexpected link but I suppose it could make sense.

Who's that Abdennour guy? First time I heard about him.

Tunisian defender at Monaco, been linked with Barca and more recently Valencia.

Left footed, fairly big and strong. Don't watch enough of Ligue 1 to know any more though. Think someone suggested he was good on the ball but I couldn't comment on that.

But i thought LVG was right in saying we didn't need a CB

I think it's bull tbh, not sure he could look at this current squad and determine it needs another cb more than it needs a forward.

Good age as well, just turned 26. Could be a good option.

You are doing this wrong. If you saw him play at least once you know him be better then his mum. That is how muppets roll.

I know a lot about Abdennour, his passing is only 72 on FIFA but Whoscored has passing as a key strength. Solid info that.

I wouldn't say that he is good on the ball, he is probably above average. He is a very good defender, strong, fast, determined and he is a good positioning.

Sport Witness are saying they're fake claims about Abdennour and to check the timeline of the guy posting the tweets but they are protected so I can't.

Valencia are not a possession based team so it's not a big deal how good Abdennour is on the ball as long as he's a good defender.

We play tonight so Martinez's pre match comments will be 50% Stones and 50% talking about the game. Said in the Stones thread that the ideal scenario would be to announce Mori and that we've told Stones he's staying. Clutching though.

You wouldn't want you to sell at 40 million?

Didn't he just sign a new contract last year? I'd keep him if I were Everton regardless of the transfer request. It's not like his value will go down. They'll get the same amount of money for him in the summer. I'd tell him to buckle down and if he really wants he can get his big money move next season.

He almost won the world cup with a ridiculously weak dutch team! Say what you want about the right left thing at CB or using Blind there or two defensive - support centre mids as opposed to Herrera or the style of football we are playing right now or his reliance on individual brilliance to break down the bus but in the big games the man knows how to get results, look at last season with how poor our team was on paper.

He became the first manager of the netherlands to not get beaten in open play at a world cup, penalties knocked him out in the end, my big concern with the champions league is getting out the group but in the big matches I think we have a chance, he won it with a bunch of kids with Ajax (I think the average age of his starting line up was like 23) then the next season he got to the final to lose on penalties, with Bayern in his first season he took them to the final.

I'm more worried about getting a good start this season and how we deal with the bus, once we get going in the big matches we'll have a chance.

It's a tough one tbh. We can sell now at 40m and rush to find replacement CBs for him who could be at his current level but nowhere near his potential, plus being able to strengthen the whole squad OR we can keep him because he's great, giving us more time to target players for next season who we've scouted more thoroughly if he still wants to leave. It also means there is a chance of his value increasing even further which is good for us.

If he does go this week, what do you think the chances are you'll come in for Evans in the next few days?

The Mori signing looks like one where he will be a back-up to the two starting CBs so we would still be looking for a CB who could come into the starting 11 so there'd be a high chance that Evans would be on a list with people such as Van Dijk. Evans would be more obtainable though.

Read something last week that Evans wants to join Everton if he leaves, so at least he wants to head your way. I think there's a decent chance Van Dijk might leave Celtic now with them failing to reach the Champions League, although the fee would be higher.

Van Dijk is heavily linked with Southampton. Koeman is after him apparently. Wont be easy for Everton to get him.
