Difficult personality and clashed with LVG, do not want.

I still think he's worth a punt despite his clashes with LVG. I think the views of @fontaine (post below) summarise the caf's position on this potential signing perfect

Just pay the money and get it done with!

Would be bad business paying a penny over £25m for him, in my opinion. Great talent but it's silly money.
Same with Shaw and same with Sterling. Every good, young English player from now on will go for silly money.

Just wish we'd stop pissing around with bids we know will be rejected.

Is he really that good ? Also, who would he replace this year, Terry ?
I'm not going to pretend like I watched every game Stones played so I can't say just how good he is. But if he's getting huge praise from legends like Terry and Rio as well as every "expert" out there in the media I would think he is. Mourinho wouldn't be after him with so much determination if he didn't think he is/will be special.

As for your second question, I don't know if he replaces anyone per se. He'll definitely get plenty of games if we end up paying £35m for him though.

hahahahahahaha.
I don't know what's worse, the fact even Master of Flops Pato is using us to get a new deal, that we would even consider a bid for a uninterested, broken and poor striker, or the fact that this guy thinks it's credible that we would table a bid that's double what his release clause is.

I read an article on Squawka last month, he is apparently a good winger now.

if the release clause is at 10m why would you bid 19?
That's exactly why he put sarcastically ''sounds believable'' - clear a BS rumour.

It was a United fan account who just made it up. ESPN Brazil not even saying it, cannot believe it spread round like it has.

The 'journos' are so starved of information and they are running out of things to make up, I guess.

We'll probably be linked with Bale again before the end of the week...

Are you watching this Ogden?

Happily actual football starts again soon, and a lot of publications have started to turn their attention on the new season build up. It won't stop all the stupid-a** articles, but there's light at the end of the tunnel my friend.

men reporting that united will let young leave if the price is right. Spurs and villa both interested.

if pedro was coming in a his replacement and di maria had decided on staying I wouldn't be too upset. But with Di maria going i think letting young go would be a silly move.

Young deserves his place here but even LVG said he isn't good enough to win titles with.

This report contradics everything that has beeing said so far.

LVG didn't say that he isn't good enough to win titles. He said that he's not Neymar. Young has shown that he is good enough to be a squad player.

I won't bother much either way. He is far from my favorite, isn't that great, and I think that he is easily replacable. In fact, I would prefer his minutes to go to Lingard/Januzaj/Pereira. Maybe them (or at least Lingard/Pereira) aren't as good as them, but on long term this might benefit us more. If he stays, well done, he did well last year.

I think he's being sarcastic mate.

I wondered if Caulker will make it a hattrick of relegations. But doubtful at Southampton :(
