ADM is nominally a winger, yes his best position was LM while at Madrid and few games with us but even if he stays he certainly wont play that position. He'll compete for one of the places in forward line.

Don't try to be smart :) You're saying it's looking because of the number of articles as opposed to if it was one isolated report. It's an illusion. The French media have been speculating before he even signed for the club..... .

I understand that you want the best players and I think that the club is trying to negotiate for the best, annoying Madrid and Bayern. It was reported that United offered 140m€ for Bale and near 100m€ for Muller. Both offers were rejected, would you offer even more? About Reus, Griezmann, there are other clubs involved in the market.It´s impossible to bring all of them. The club can offer more but I think that could mortgage the possible investment of the club in the future. As I told you, be patient, at the end you will be probably satisfied with the squad

di maria is not a forward. he provides service to forwards. if you bothered to watch copa america you would have noticed the damage he caused as a midifielder not as a forward. we have been using him the wrong way by using him as a forward because of his non combative nature. we should be playing him NOW in van gaals 4-4-2 ..instead we are selling him

Yeah, I don't disagree with anything you've said here. My only disagreement was when you implied UEFA can refuse to send an invite to a team even if FFP is to be deemed improper in EU court.
 
No club only do good transfer business. Losing AdM isn't such a big loss if we can replace him with something that suits LvGs setup better and gets a return of €35m, that's looks like good piece of business from the clubs perspective.

I'm all in favor buying Pedro. Give me another players with his experience and skills for €30m? He's spanish and already good friend with Mata and Herrera. What more could we ask for?

His wife and probably his daughter want to go back to Spain.Mendes offered him to Madrid and tried with Barcelona, but a clause in the contract doesn´t allow him to go to Barcelona. You probably read an interview talking about United and PSG, I think that in this thread, some pages before. He didn´t show any kind of sympathy for the club. Maybe the family pressure, his apathy to the project are the reasons why United is selling, even losing a bit of money.

Have we not already replaced him though? We have Depay and Young for the left side. Valencia and probably Pedro coming in on the right. That would be absolutely fine if you ask me...

im talking about di maria playing as a LM (in place of young) instead of a forward...dont see why thats so earthshakingly wrong.

Well, they can it has nothing to do with FFP, a company can refuse to serve you, you can refuse to host someone and UEFA can stop organizing competitions or can refuse to invite someone.
But it needs to be said that in that case and if there is no obvious reasons, the club can go to a civil court and asks for indemnities.
 
We're being mugged if we're letting AdM go for 65 mill euros after buying him for 65 mill pounds last year and it's bonus kick in the crotch if we end up spending 20 million pounds on Jasper Cillissen.

Cech cost Arsenal 10 million!!

i think its more van gaals call than the players. if we wanted to keep him we would have. we would happily keep de gea even if he really wants to leave, then why not di maria. i honestly think its van gaals decision. anyway...like you said all we can do is be patient.

Firstly he cost £59.7m. Secondly as people have said that included bonuses which we wont have to pay if he leaves. We will recoup mostly what we paid for him upfront. As for the second part, Im scared of that as well.

Yeah my apologies, I should have clarified that UEFA cannot withhold an invitation for no good reason and not face repercussions. Anyway, I think we can stop derailing the thread now :p

i dont think di maria is just a winger. he can play in multiple positions..IN MINDFIELD. van gaal thinks of him as a forward (i think) which is exemplified by him being played a forward with rooney and as a RF in a couple of games. I think we used him incorrectly..and that can happen..but selling him without letting him settle is wrong. but as carvajal rightly pointed out..we just have to be patient.

Laughing at your posts isnt is maybe rude but its not an insult. I havent insulted you personally did I? But carry on.

If ADM isnt happy at United and wants to leave than we shouldnt hold him. He said he wants to stay but maybe he changed his opinion. PSG was his preferred destination last year anyway.

4-4-2 we played last 2 games is basically 4-4-1-1 which can easily transform to 4-2-3-1 and then 4-3-3. In all of this formations he wouldnt play LM like in the beginning for us but a left winger or a left forward.
 
Bein sports would be reliable with anything PSG related.

Could be one of three reasons for the stall:

1. United want their fee back.
2. Di Maria wants higher wages.
3. ADM wants to stay.
